London Best
A good friend of mine, who owns a large gun dealership, told me that his best-selling .22 is a semi auto Ruger 10/22 that looks like an AR15. I was shocked and disgusted. I thought, who on earth would want a .22 that looks like an assault rifle. Then I realised.............wannabe Rambos. Jaymo
I don’t particularly like Ford’s, but I’m not going to criticise anyone for owning one. Rambo huh, did he actually use a firearm, thought he was ‘bows and knives’ ( oh wait, maybe Rambo part 74 or however many there were, he might of) LB, your quite entitled to your opinion but the correlation to a style of firearm to either it’s owners intentions or lethality is a bit ‘Daily Mail’ - do believe there have been more incidents of harm/murder with the good ole o/u or SBS than with anything ‘black’ ( well in this country anyway) ( do you thing having a hunting scene engraved one one of mine is going to encourage me to shoot ducks— eeeek, better get it recut) Ps, the wife would far prefer I shot inanimate objects - now , where’s a Ford Escort boy racer’s car

Your laws state you can only have so many rounds of a certain caliber right? Do unloaded components count toward that limit?

Only primed cases count towards the limit shotgun almost no limits there’s a rule for max powder allowance which would give you about 2 pallets full hopefully this helps of

London Best
With shotgun ammunition there is no limit stated on a shotgun certificate. With ammunition for a rifle it will state on a firearm certificate how many rounds of which calibre you are allowed to possess, dependent upon what quantity you requested, eg: an allowance of, say, 150 rounds would be of little or no use to a target shooter for range use but is probably adequate for a big game hunter for one or two trips overseas each year. London Best
I am not sure that, as stated, a primed case counts towards your limit. I don’t think it counts until you seat a bullet, making it a loaded round. Does anybody know any different.......for certain? snow white
I am under impression that only a fully loaded round counts to your limit.

Vince Green
Various licencing authorities have tried to impose their own made up rules many times without authority. I suspect the primed cases comment from Old Farrier has its origins in one such instance I can remember a few years back one licencing authority started saying to people that primers count as ammunition. So if your allowance for ammo was 200 you couldn't buy or hold more than 200 primers. They were soon seen off by the NRA but the little made up rules keep creeping back like weeds on a lawn. The trouble is if they are not nipped in the bud they become established

Dougy
Allot of naivety on here. Owning a firearm means having to abide by the rules and regulations stated on your license. Its surprising how many of members have close to no idea whatvtney can and can't do. It maybe worth knowing that having a few loaded rounds over your allowance stated on your license could have the lot taken off you. Not just the few bullets but, rifles, scopes, loading gear the lot. And you won't get anything from them, they don't sell them and hand over the dosh. You loose the lot.

Agree totally whatever it says on your license is what you can have however the interpretation of the home office guidelines from county to county doesn’t help the home loaders sadly the local flo to the area is not necessarily as experienced as one in another area this leads to problems and confusion

If you can show you use them, yes definitely. They might not want to give you that many at first , but if you can prove via sales om your licence that you are regularly purchasing up to your limit, then you have every grounds to have that limit raised. Bullets for reloading are also put down, and Im about to ask for my limits to be raised, as Ive bought 500 in the last 2 months alone. Now I reload .22 Hornet, .204 Ruger and .243 Winchester, with .308 to add in the near future. I also used to reload for .223, .22-250 and .17 Hornet. .38 special, .357 magnum and .44 magnum are STILL legal - I own and reload all three, in lever action rifle form. They banned the hand guns, not the calibres. And you can even had LBR now as well.
