grahamch
Have decided on rifle, pump and silencer but am bamboozled by the choice of scopes available. Years ago l used a Tasco 4x32 on my Vulcan and FWB 124 which was fine. Now trying to choose a scope looks to be a nightmare! Any recommendations would be welcome, dont need a range finder or night vision/infra red etc. Just after a quality scope at a sensible price
London Best
4x32 still does the same job it did in 1984. But some people today consider it impossible to shoot anything at all unless you have a 6-24x56 zoom scope, or at least a 4-16x44.
Ultrastu
I find a 3 - 12 x 44 will cover virtually every thing you need . Short range - long range .low enough in the mounts .jack of all trades . I use that spec on a variety of air guns from ratters to ultra long range fac .25 . The max scope magnification i prefer to use i 16 x .but these usully have a bottom end of 4x .which is fine . But its a longer heavier scope than a 3 -12. And the 3x and 12 x will be more than adequate for all you could want . Hawke do a nice vantage in 3 -12 x44 with side focus too i believe . Id start there
Walker570
Hawke ...... I have them mounted on all of my rifles from AA S200 through to 375JDJ, via 8x57JRS and they have never let me down. The Airmax models are superb for air rifles.
Ultrastu
The 3-9 is a good mag range .and ideal for a break barrel springer as its not too long to allow the breech to open . Also the some what limited range of a springer compared to a pcp means that the 9x is perfect for shots up to around 35 /40 yds .although i personally find that 9x a bit to low on my pcps when im shooting at 50 yds or more .hence the 12x being perfect for these longer shots .without adding unnessesary weight or length. quentyn
its funny when i target shoot i find myself at the max zoom all the time, when i hunt i start on about 4-6x mag and wind back as i loose the light as someone said earlier a 3-12 will do you fine but if you are mainly shooting on a range i would go 4-
WalkedUp
3-12x50 IR AO is my preferred air rifle scope for maximum versatility. Hawke are a good brand.

Ultrastu
I thought the galahad could be shot from both sides of the gun due to its forward leaver cocking ?
