Why do we need to import people from other countries into the services and care sectors. There are over 375,00 16 -24 year olds unemployed. What's stopping them filling these vacancies most are probably still living at home. Plus the rest of the unemployed who are happy to claim benefits. There is no stigma anymore for those milking the system. Labour only reinforces this type of lifestyle.

Yes there is but we was on about the care sector not in general

You can see I started this bit of the conversation and did no limit it to the care sector only. It was about them sitting on thier ***** on welfare. But hey ho. Good contribution.

Those saying Boris doesn't stand a chance, you do realise if he gets to the magic number of 100 MPs backing him, it goes to the membership again.

It doesn't matter how many MPs backed Sunak. If 2 or more get over 100, the membership decides.

If only 1 gets over 100 they are the new PM.

Boris' team are adamant he already has the backing of over 100.

Down the pan, I find sunak a bit creepy.

We are in a much better place than with Johnson back in, Markets would have crashed, the pound would have tanked, borrowing costs shot up  and inflation up.  As much as I don't like Sunak this is far far preferable for the economy than Johnson.  He has been caught lying yet again about having 100 backers, if he had he would have gone for it given the size of his ego.

really dont trust sunak's motives...he is far too clever for me.....i think sunak is devious..........still think starmer will be in next time

Two years is a very long time in Politics especially if the war ends.

I'm the same, when your father inlaw is a multi billionare and head of a multinational info technology company , and you are also pretty rich from working for goldman sachs, there are a lot of conflicts of interest.
He is just to slick, you can see that everything is choreographed, from his designer trousers that are slightly short which are supposed to make him look taller ,to his man of the people designer £350 trainers, he is as false as a big false thing.

you have saved me making a long winded post....everything you say im on board with......i also think he feels a bit inferior to his father-in-law...and i think either by policy or proxy or insider dealing he will skew policy in the direction of benifitting his bank balance........

ok boris was a naughty boy...he got caught having a drink and a curry..and trusted the wrong people....as i have always said his SPADS were wasters....he was stupid but not devious...

Tony Blair came into office with a 50% mortgage and left office a very rich man.....

Sunak is devious ...brutal....calculating..........he will make tony blair look like a peniless tramp ...he needs to be watched and i mean watched very carefully..

I’m the same. I regard him as insincere, ( never did Blair any harm) false and more than a little smarmy. I hope I’m wrong.
Unless something amazing happens, the Tories will be out at the next GE in my experience.

You can have all the money in the world but with political office you get power.

Boris left not for having a drink but because he lied about it.

Tony Blair was destined to be rich a very astute operator.

Certain no but very likely that the party would implode had Boris got through and no doubt he was warned the same. All too soon.

Is that your explanation to Scully's question?

No read it, I edited my post!  But IIRC Scully was supporting Trusses budget if not I apologise.  Boris would have been a disaster for the Markets, he was a total spend thrift and totally careless about everything.  Totally unfit for office.

Have a look at the Markets and the pound tomorrow Scully that will give you a clue, then come back when you know what you are talking about.

Oh dear! So if the markets don’t crash tomorrow and the pound doesn’t tank, that’s all down to the fact Boris has dropped out is it? I’m pretty sure nothing miraculous will happen tomorrow regarding borrowing and inflation, but again, that’ll be down to Boris will it?
And your claim he has been caught lying again regarding his 100 backers? You may well be right, but there’s no mention of it being a lie on the news. So how do you know?

Because he would have stood as he said he would as did his backers, do keep up.  Where did I mention borrowing and inflation they are longer term, I said the markets and the pound.

Nice edit! Not quick enough though eh? 😉
I think I posted something about my OH’s minted sister and a Twitter post she sent me, but I don’t recall supporting Truss’ budget.
Maybe it’s not just me who needs to keep up?
I do recall your melodramatic meltdown however. It would appear it’s still ongoing.
You still haven’t answered my question, how do you know? Spell it out cos you know how slow I am.

I edited because I couldn't remember 100 % and gave you the benefit of the doubt but it seems you did so I withdraw any apology.  What melodramatic meltdown? Johnson has lied about virtually everything including his 100 votes, he would have stood no doubt.  Look at the FTSE tomorrow to answer your own question.
