Was approached, for two nose out crooks, with double spacers on blackthorn! On buffalo horn , which is like rocking horse doo dah ! So should of said no , but up for the challenge....... boo Posted November 19, 2022 Author Report Share Posted November 19, 2022 Next suitable shanks , these wanted to be black thorn , thorns cut & filed, then straightend took about 4 days in total, using hot air gun & pinch method, pretty straight! Once spacers in situ , cut shanks at 30' angle, then slowly dry fitted together using chalk to show high points ,once good *** achieved glued up , then onto fit & finish. Nearly all done by eye alone , file,& scraping, when happy , sand back ,to 400 , then wet & dry ,600,800,1200. Buff show scratches & start again till happy, I've fitted ferrules,will post when shanks been done Ferrules fitted , coat of danish. boo Posted November 19, 2022 Author Report Share Posted November 19, 2022 To Ditchie , I havnt , only use a hot air gun , most bends are local ,so only heat up where needed, then fully let cool to set !
