BASC is in contact with the PCC and we are seeking a meeting with him to inform him of firearms legislation and the reasons why the proposals discussed at the North Wales Police and Crime Panel have been rejected as pointless over many years.

As an aside, but relevant to this, this week saw members of BASC’s specialist firearms team, plus its team of regional directors, spend time with staff from four of the UK’s police firearms licensing departments - Metropolitan Police, Essex Police, Warwickshire Police and North Wales Police - sharing some of their experiences, looking at how potential obstacles could be overcome in the future, and the efficiency of the licensing process and how this could be improved for gun owners was also discussed.

As I live in North Wales I have written to Mr. Dunbobbin, the PCC in this case, to express my disbelief that he could allow such a travesty of the real situation to go unchallenged.
