Pushandpull
Some of the BTL comments are........imaginative. Anyone can have their say though so there is a chance to respond today rather than expecting BASC to do something next week.

Fellside
The Guardian has recently gone way beyond a subtle left leaning. They are now essentially a promotional unit for Labour and the so called Greens.
Conor O'Gorman
It's not only for BASC and the other shooting organisations to complain and respond to articles such as this - surely we all need to get involved? A key criteria for complaints is accuracy and whilst some of the statements sail close to the wind there is a clear unevidenced inaccuracy in the statement "After each massacre, most of the dead pheasants, as there’s little demand for their meat, are dumped in “stink pits...." To complain email: guardian.readers@theguardian.com on grounds of lack of accuracy. Background to their complaints process here if need be: https://www.theguardian.com/info/complaints-and-corrections Note that you can't complain to the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) about this article as The Guardian is one of the few broadsheets not signed up. If you use X/Twitter then you may wish to comment on the article on Monbiot's post on the article here: https://twitter.com/GeorgeMonbiot/status/1710192588651683904

Has, or will, the BASC be complaining? A simple answer yes or no will suffice.
ShootingEgg
that's a lot of very anti bile and anger .... someone's not slept well then wrote that up .. and unfortunately it has been written and read now, a complaint will not reverse that, nor will it mean they will put out an apology or counter statement. I await the PW Bashing for being negative, but we( shooters and the orgs ) need to be putting the facts out to the media, not waiting to defend articles like these.. we should be proactive not reactive. Posting out magazines to already joined members is just preaching to the converted. The article states grouse mores are black holes for harriers and eagles. When they are not. Maybe BASC, NGO, GWCT, CA etc should be putting out articles before this kind of bile is done, EVERY year we see the same anti propaganda and we just let it slide.. All very well but the left wing media (which is virtually all of it) will not publish it so it goes nowhere.

Fellside
I wonder if it is possible for a wealthy estate owner to sue the Guardian for libel - re harm to their reputation and business.

Genghis
I always have a chuckle when I hear a very, very middle class left-winger talking about class divisions. The Guardian has almost exclusively middle-class columnists writing for an almost exclusively middle-class readership. Most who shoot pheasant are probably also from a middle-class background, so I’m not sure what he’s trying to say.
