As in true food and drink custom,ย where's the gravyย ๐ I love the meat and veg together.ย There is a little gravy on there in the photo, more was added before eating, but it photographs better before being slathered in gravy.ย The chips were Maris Piper potato, peeled and cut to chips raw - then par boiled and shaken to go a bit fluffy round the edges, then tossed whilst hot with some beef dripping, seasoned and oven cooked on a tray in a very hot oven.ย Steak was nice (Morrisons), but I did slightly overcook it for my tastes - still pink in the middle, but could have been a bit pinker. We have even been known to have a winter bbq and make sprout brochettes, which are handsome with garlic butter and loads of black pepper.
