So….i have sat down at checked a brand new slab of FBlu’s,l and taken some stats

I counted 45 that were not crimped with consistency, too far down or not enough but not enough to really be concerned about.

5 were obviously defects as per below.

so, only 2% of the 250 carts were noticed as potentially defective.

Is this enough to warrant a move to a different brand such as Eley Selects for example?

I personally think Eley Selects are underwhelming. Im a big Fiocchi fan, but im not a fan of their QC at this present time.

If you're looking for a cheaper decent shell, you could do worse than Hull Sporting 100, Eley Superb or Cheddite Rapeed.

I was taught on TT21 (The green ones) and I loved them, but can’t get any more at the moment….Would love to get some more

I am also a big fan of the Litespeeds…..Not very thumpy for me, and a 26g load!

So I am a Fiocchi fan, but they just seem very inconsistent at the moment, but still shoot fine!!

Update.

After contacting fiocchi uk regarding the 20 gauge steel cartridge issues i had I'd also said i had a large order already in place and i was concerned.

Well i went to collect them yesterday and free cartridges had been added to my order.

It looks like the issue i had was insufficient shot causing sunken crimps.

No reply from fiocchi as yet though .

Pleased with the result.

How many compensation cartridges did they give you?

Eley superb are not a cheap shell, the selects are a surprisingly good cartridge in my opinion, I would happily shoot them.

bit late to this but i have had a lot of missfires from the f3,s i normally use.local gunsmith say the primers are hard and causing a lot of problems with firing pins.he has had so many lately.mine is now at the shop due to my problems.will not be using anymore after the current ones are used up in my semi.

I have never used F3's myself but a few of my friends have totally given up on Fiocchi as well. I must admit, I will be getting more Rossas, but not the UK made stuff.

I have been using Lyalvale power blues and power golds ( close on 15k)for the last 2 years after problems with F Blacks, I have never had a problem with them and that is through 725s Browning and a 694. I have only seen Richard Faulds and Charlie Faulds have 1 ftf with  Lyalvale carts.

I know a fair few shooters using power golds that have changed from Fiocchi, not heard any bad reports.

The only Fiocchi I use now are Rossas, but very rarely with all the close targets these days.

I have never tried Power Golds in truth. Im sure they are fine, but in general I don't really shoot Lyalvale.

I have just opened up two fiocchi black 28g shells one made in Italy and the other one in England, the one from Italy has 21.8 grns of powder and a fiocchi wad and the other has 17 grns of powder and a bpz2h both seem to have identical powder and primer just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
