TIGHTCHOKE
Finally some sense, we use a carvery and have used the pizza places that offer a "buffet". Basically GREEDY people over fill their plates because they think they are "playing the system" and winning. A Carvery in Cornwall has the answer; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crm2em2y8dgo

JKD
So what does this restaurant do with the 'leftovers' ? I've not read the full story,,,, can't be bothered - just like their proofreader couldn't be bothered 🤦♂️😆
TIGHTCHOKE
They throw them away you lazy sod. They are asking people to only take what they will actually eat.

JKD
So what's to stop any customer from just craftily scooping their leftovers [while no-one was looking] into a container hidden in a bag ? Seems like the common sense answer ?! 😁🤪

I think that's illegal 🙂 I remember my dad dropping off milk bread and yogurt from his milk round and tipping it into the swill. The smell was unreal. If I had a pig it would get everything it would eat. 🙂 We currently have a batch of cull sheep in eating a field behind the house. I am desperately hoping they stay long enough to eat off the field so I don't have to mow it.

You are not supposed to feed them anything from any kitchen, domestic or commercial. Reason is the theoretical risk of foot and mouth I think, not sure how great the risk is but enough for them to make a law about it I guess. Not a new law either. welsh1
We went into a Toby carvery a few Sundays ago for a bit of lunch, some of the people there could have won competitions for how much you can stack on a plate, and yes they all seemed to leave stuff. Don't know why they bother, you can go back up and get more veg if you want it, I had a few more of their lovely roast spuds.

It's all in the detail OB 🤭😆 As for the leftovers,,,, why doesn't the restaurant owner simply supply suitable bags for the customers to put them in, and add a small charge to the bill to cover this ? Once off the premises, it's up the diners what they do with them 🤷♂️🫡
