Yes, agree that it is similar but its not snot or phegm as we have no "gentlemen of the road" - If it was physically ejected how did it end up underneath the leaf?

I have seen similar after Slugs have been together , but how they got onto the leaf ? then I haven't a clue :hmm:

Not a slug anywhere and too high up the tree (about 5' off the deck)

Maybe a deposit from a large spider or a caterpillar ? , although not sure if Caterpillars are active this time of the year , someone will come up with the right answer before long , they always do :good:

No, about 75 yards from the local polluted river which holds almost zero wildlife

Close enough, my money on the caddis fly. If you could find it again you could rear them and then you'd be sure.

I think its snail eggs.

I’m leaning towards caddis fly as the blob was right at the tip of the branch. Anything that walked or crawled wouldn’t have made it.

This morning the contents of the “blob” appear to have grown in size.
I couldn’t find any others along a 1/2 mile stretch of hazels.
Apologies for the clarity of the pictures blame it on old age.

😁 daily updates required. 👍

The branch that the blob hangs from is perilously close to the road. I’m tempted to snip the end off and bring it back to base camp.
