Well, I suppose it's a GOOD start.

The Guardian reports a plan to get rid of 10000 Civil Servants, a good start at least.

The number of CS has risen by 13 times that since 2016 but the cuts will never happen.

All 2TK smoke and mirrors, I would recon on a rise if 50K before they are out of power.

No doubt the unions will negotiate a package for each person that leaves, it will probably include a wheelbarrow of money, a speedboat, a diamond encrusted statue (various animals and people available) and of course an enhanced pension because we don't want a civil servant having to suffer like the plebs.

The problem with the “everybody take 5% cut” approach is that many senior civil servants do not know how to manage and so their approach is equal misery for all. All of their branches lose 5% irrespective of their role. This leads to inefficiencies, and diluted performance to public services. They look at cost savings subjectively eg pay, rent, etc and not objectively ie what tasks are we doing and do we need to do them at all? such an approach would mean that necessary areas of work are not diluted and unnecessary tasks and associated costs are binned

The joke of the day?

Uncivil servants threatened, equals politicos twitchy rears unless gold plated exits arranged? They created and support the mythical tower that the politicos sit in?

I preferred the plan from Mogg to cut the number by 60000. The numbers are staggering. The thing is when there has been no one in charge for the last 11 years then you need more CS to keep things going.

Job freeze is the way to do it.

You are surely not suggesting that the current, politically biased, civil service know how to run things - with any level of effectiveness, efficiency and economy, that is.
