Didn't go due to the price. LAMMA the agricultural machinery show at the NEC had/has free entry, just pre book your tickets. Also thought the Game fair at Blenheim was the worst i'd been to

A mate of mine is still waiting for a knife he put a deposit in at the game fair last year. Contacted the company and still waiting. So he is not impressed. We didn't goto the NEC this weekend as nothing on shopping list and didn't fancy the entry fee this year. But normally have a good day out there.

I would cancel it and buy a Stuart Mitchell

He is trying to get hold of the owner / seller. That in Itself has been a pain. I bought one on the day, the sheath is too narrow and I've gone through it multiple times got told a new one would be sent to me. Nothing. Been using a different sheath that the knife fits ever since...

Went on Saturday  .  Expensive to get in and food and drink was expensive also.  Despite that really enjoyed the show.

This is my thoughts. I enjoy the day out. And just have to suck up the over priced food and drink.

I worked all three days and enjoyed it. It’s once a year and is inside the warm and dry. £35 wouldn’t get you the biggest round in at the pub either nor many rounds of clays. If we don’t go to these events why would retailers and exhibitors !  We also couldn’t complain if it stopped and we had no where to go.

Personally I did a load of shopping and possibly spent circa £800 and was / is a very happy chappie 👍🏻

Good for you. 👍

I love those kind of shows; where else could you see all the guns and gear you would like to see, under one roof?

I went to the British fly fishing show at Stafford showground a couple of weeks ago, three halls packed with plenty of stalls with bargain buys, talks and shows to watch, fly tyers to talk to and watch in action all for the sum of £13 (pre booked ticket.) If this show (which was brilliant) can be ran for such a price how can they warrant £35! Used to enjoy the Chatsworth game fair but now it's all hot tubs, garden furniture etc.

This is no mud chucking post but rather a question that i am sure is not just on my lips,

why is the entry fee so much higher for this show than other shows at the NEC, eg Camping and Caravan show entry was £13, This is what is killing the shows, no small RFD retailer has been able to afford to go to these shows for many many years.

Unsure if this forms part of the answer but possibly public liability insurance, due to the products on sale. But only the organisers of the show can answer that 100%

I'm not sure its the PLI, the Midland went the same way, they get the footfall so cant blame it all on www purchasing as many suggest.
