Axe
Prompted by another topic I thought i'd see how many of us actually enjoy a good Brussel Sprout. I remember as a child loathing Brussels. Mum would serve them up and i'd dread having to eat them. I tried all sorts of things to disguise them, drowning them in any sauce I could find, mashing them with other veg, rolling them in the meat. I even tried cramming them in all in one go to hurry them down. But nothing, nothing could stop me ending up sitting at the meal table staring at the last remaining sprouts that I had to eat before leaving the table. It used to make me gag it was dreadful. Funny though, now I can't get enough of them. I love the little devils to bits. Theres loads of recipes for sprouts but baby sweet sprouts are just fantastic rolling around in gravy as they are. One I found lately was a combination of Honey, Mustard and Caramelised Red Onion and of course the sprouts....mmmmmmm, delicious! Just like marmite, you either love 'em or hate 'em, which way do you swing?

Guest The Outlaw
Like you Axe I used to hate them, but our Labrador at the time loved them, so I would pass them to him under the table, in a way it was revenge for me because "Blacky" used to sleep in my parents room. However I do like them now and keep the kids amused with my anal tunes. Tony

Mungler
I really like them and they always remind me of a change in the seasons and Xmas dinner. When we were at school I remember we were fed mushy tinned sprouts that were vile and should have been banned under a Geneva convention. Proper sprouts done right (soaked, peeled, cooked till firm / borderline crunchy and then covered in gravy and black pepper) = magic Over cooked brussels ought to be a criminal offence.
