Highlander
Mate of mine went to Bavaria and shot a left and right boar (after 8 years of trips) and during that evenings entertainment in the castle he was spread-eagled bare a**** over a barrel whilst the Baron did the honours with a sword. Knicked both **** cheeks and he still has the scars to prove it. Caning is for school boys! Looks like an interesting (and I understand not too costly) trip. Not long now before we’ll be boar shooting in this part of the world though
Flashman
What's the position regarding bringing back trophies? Nothing like a dead animal’s head over the fireplace, next to the stuffed hunt sab...
Dunkield
Don't now about a whole head (if that is what you want) but having tusks mounted and shipped back is included.

Mungler
these are the afluent members of the club unaffected by the credit crunch It was remarkable value for money. About the same money as a decent second hand 686 Gold E and *everything* was included. Given how many pigs our group shot (one or two individuals shot over 4 each) it's great value considering included are flights, transfers, accomodation and food. One chap (big Steve) shot 2 with one bullet (a large sow followed by a massive silver class boar).

LXX73
Was this PW organised and is there going to be another one? Wouldn't mind trying abit of that myself(the shooting would be good as well)
Dunkield
No it wasn't, I organised the trip but 3 of my friends dropped out, so I scraped the barrel and came up with... Seriously I only asked people I know, or at least have met, the rest of the team was made up with a group we have shot with before + 2 'randoms' added to our group by the Sporting Agent. I would never go on a trip like this with just anyone, just think about it, driven shooting, getting a bit excited/frustrated, loaded centrefire in your hands etc etc. You don't have to wait for someone to organise a trip just look on the web or in mags for people who do trips and give them a ring, that is all I did. FM, The caning is a bit of a tradition, they set up a 'court' and the guilty parties get canned. I had heard about it but we never had it on the last trip. Now I am 50 miles away from the nearest person that got whacked, I can admit I suggested we had it to finish off a great day :yp:

Dougy
I dont know if it was just me, but knowing the size of them and the story's you hear. there were times i was kind of bricking it. I mean you have about 10 yards from were this great big 200lb+ chomping monster could come flying out at you and in the VERY short time you have your best to get a bead on it and sort it before it sorts you , Was it just me being over imaginative. Yes i did do a bit of a jig when i got one,but it was really more of it aint going to get me now, kind of dance Now, as those of us who were there cant believe that some tooth butcher from some distant land was actually on his mobile phone whilst waiting for Boar to appear :o thanks again for the company it was brill, Edited November 26, 2008 by Dougy
