Catamong
I shot 44/50 at my local club, taking the knockout challenge shield for the second year running. CATAMONG, don't bother replying to this. Good shooting everyone else. You surely couldn't have won it with a score as poor as that..?? Cat. Mungler
Martin and Cat just like to argue hard because it makes the making up so much more fun. It's like when you were at school you wanted the attention of a girly and so you would go and pull her pig tails. Okay, so this didn't work too well for me at University but hey it does get you noticed by the Dean and she was a right looker. Anyways, Cat's constant baiting of Martin is his way of saying "lets get the civil partnership on". Well I can't say I approve, but hey lets just live and let live. I await the wedding invite and no doubt they will be honeymooning in Suffolk.

Paulos, Don't hold your breath will you. I am sick and tired of the constant **** that he spouts, I cannot be ***** any longer. He may well get a kick out of it but I for one will not be responding. I have blocked his posts and I will not engage in any more banter, as far as I am concerned he can kiss my ****. He cannot handle the fact there is several people who are hot on his heels and he is a has been. His averages are slipping and he has had to take up golf. Bless him Any more **** from him will get the same response as the Essex Masters thread, which if you haven't read it it says, Cat **** OFF Edited January 26, 2009 by MC
MC
You surely couldn't have won it with a score as poor as that..?? Cat. Perhaps you haven't grasped the concept of winning seeing as though it has been so long since you have won anything, but you only need one kill more than your opponent to beat them. And no I didn't win with a score as low as that. It was shot over 8 consecutive shoots and I had been high gun on every occasion.
MC
I will admit to doing something bloody stupid on sunday though. On one stand of reasonably easy crossers, I shot the lead bird and then continued to shoot the bits leaving the second bird to carry on untouched. Wookie
Went out today with Zapp for a sneaky mid-week shoot at Sporting Targets. With a freshly modified gun (raised comb and an Easyhit sight) and Zapp's ancient SxS we hit the stands after a nice lunch and had what I would call a great time. Zapp put me into things gently as I had never shot skeet before, but after a round he reckoned I had shot in the high teens, so I was well happy. He, of course, did better. All in all, I did better than normal and so I think the raised comb/Easyhit combo did the trick for me, as did a tiny bit of coaching from Steve at the gunshop and some tips from Zapp. I am now looking forward to allowing Paulos to win the wooden spoon on the Northapton shoot in Feb. Zapp, thanks for inviting me. I really enjoyed it.

What Wookie has modestly failed to mention is that not only did he score in the high-teens on skeet, on his first go, but he had 1/2 and 3/4 choke in the gun at the time. Either a very modest master skeet shot or a total natural! A man to watch at Northampton methinks! ZB

On one stand of reasonably easy crossers, I shot the lead bird and then continued to shoot the bits leaving the second bird to carry on untouched. Hey, get this, (apologies for being off topic ), I was pigeon decoying a couple of weeks ago near to garyb and young Will, and a flock of about a dozen birds came into the deeks, I picked out a bird about 25 yards out, swung through it and pulled the trigger, fully expecting it to crumple and drop, well, it flew on untouched but there was a bird following it abot 3 feet behind and that one dropped stone dead, I couldn't believe it, must get my eyes tested again..!! Peter De La Mare
Well, that's a change of fortune at Copfurn. Shooting face first into an Antartican snow blizzard at what felt like -20 on the first half. Hit barely anything, made up for it a bit on the second half in the trees. Result 51/80. Markio
Took the Escort pump out yesterday for the first time on clays. Excellent fun!! Only shot 23x50 and completely blanked one stand but thoroughly enjoyed using it. Didn't forget to cycle it but it was a concious effort that may have distracted me, well that's the official excuse anyway.

The 3 stands into the blizzard 3, 4 and 5? (I couldn't open my eyes) I got 2/8, 3/8 and 3/8 a piece on (16 birds dropped over 3 stands) I was a bit disappointed with the layout because the 2 fast away pairs for about 3 stands on the trot was a bit of a cop out. Mind you, in this weather it would have been throw the traps out and get back in the hut as quick as.

The ones in the woods appeared identical to a month ago, and the others were similar but with more DTL type birds. Still glad I went as I got some more mileage on the new gun, but would have like to have gotten into the blizzard crossers a little more enthusiastically. Wookie
Well, what a lovely day. Crisp, clear and warm, with a sky of perfect blue and about six inches of snow on the ground up at High Harthay. After meeting up with Hairyduck and getting a cuppa down my neck, I headed out with another shooter for a round of sporting. Apart from two bogey stands (scoring 1 and 2 respectively), I managed a very respectable 69, including two straights! That doubles my number so far and was the first time I have shot two straights in a round. It also goes to show that the new fibre optic sight and the raised comb work, and work well. I have one more chance to practice before the PW "Who's the daddy?" shoot on the 22nd and if I carry on like this, I'll be happy enough to let Paulos take the spoon. I might even fancy my chances... To top it off, Mrs. Wookie and I have just got back from lamping and we now have a bunny in the freezer. Niiiiice. Fatcatsplat
Went to JJ's with Mungler, Bagsy and Mr and Mrs Broken Man - Scored 61 out of 96 on my play gun - Remmie Pump Action followed by a re-entry on my dedicated clay gun - Browning Ultra, where i managed to improve my score by minus 8 and ended up with a pathetic 53!! Zut alors, mes pantalons - Je suis pants! Edited February 8, 2009 by Fatcatsplat
Bagsy
Went to JJ's with Mungler, Bagsy and Mr and Mrs Broken Man - Scored 61 out of 96 on my play gun - Remmie Pump Action followed by a re-entry on my dedicated clay gun - Browning Ultra, where i managed to improve my score by minus 8 and ended up with a pathetic 53!! Zut alors, mes pantalons - Je suis pants! Good to see you again FCS I didn't hang around for a second bash and legged it having limped in with a 79. All considered I was pretty happy with that. I reckon the lack of a burger van played havoc on our metal ability and thus our scores were down. Don't know how you managed another round without a double cheese burger to keep you going - the garage made a fortune out of me on the way home
Peter De La Mare
re-entry on my dedicated clay gun - Browning Ultra, where i managed to improve my score by minus 8 Dat's funny! What happened? I shoot appallingly again. Not sure what's up with me at the moment, fairly sure it's not the new gun, I think I got a bit complacent and stopped applying myself as much.... now I'm suffering for it. 48/70 at Shrove Hill. There were a couple of **** stands where the birds weren't that well sorted out. High gun was only a 54/70 which tells you that a stand or two were a bit waft. I was pretty much the last to leave so there wouldn't have been any improvement on those results.
Fatcatsplat
I think i was shooting the pump for a chuckle and then when i switched for the second go i started to concentrate, which is approximately when the wheels fell off. That and the raging hunger - Every time i called "Pull" i had a mental image of two Ginsters being hurled in front of me!
Mungler
Had a play with a new gun today and shot like a lady. Finally used up the balance of my misc cartridges. I think I have got playing with different guns and different cartridges out of my system for now.
