Harnser
Ronnie Biggs has compleated 10 years of his 30 year sentence for the great train robbery . He gave himself up after escaping from wandsworth prison and spent his time in Brazil living off his ill gotten gains . When he became seriously ill and couldnot get the treatment he needed in Brazil he decided to come back to the good old u.k. for treatment . Of course he had to go back to prison . Should he be paroled or should he rot in jail . Harnser .

robinhood69
They should let him go,free up a place in prison and send that useless bas&%#* Gordon Brown in to take his place. After all Ronnie only stole a few million,Gordons helped vandalise a whole economy!! mossy835
stay in jail, he will come out and live off the tax payer, and we will have two give him some where two live.
Wiltsmark
Let him out, he will only cost the Taxpayer more being inside, and besides people with worse crimes do less time Ronnie is being made an example of i think.
JonD
I agree, OK he has done wrong but i doubt he would have received anything like 30 years these days. Another vote for sending GB to fill his place, he is of more danger to society....
Ozzy Fudd
just hang both of them, save the money
Barn_Owl
Parole He costs more too keep in jail (2k per week) than he will ever get on welfare. In the news today a paedophile has just been jailed: 2 counts of indecent assault of a girl under 13. 4 counts of taking indecent photographs. 1 count of possessing indecent photographs. (63 photo's of girls aged between 8-10) Sentenced to 6 years ...... out in 3 or 4 years ?? Biggs has served 10 years .. has cancer, had a stroke, heart problems and in his 70's. Just my opinion. Imperfection
He should stay in prison despite his age and ill health.A man died as a result of being hit over the head during the train robbery and although it was always rumoured to be Buster Edwards who was responsible-they're all guilty by association. They committed a crime-end of. ME
Great topic Harnser, I can see this making a 10 pager. I think they should just parole him. He isnt a danger to anyone now and will cost more to keep locked up.
shaun4860
Leave in jail...... age and health shouldnt come into it.....he did the crime now do the time.... if his health wasnt so bad do you think he would have come back.....no... if he didnt escape he would have been out now anyway so im sorry but no sympathy shaun
kdubya
I think that considering his age, health and the fact he has spent 10 years in jail plus the cost of keeping him in, then its time to let him out he is no threat to society now, guy I worked with murdered someone he was out after 4 years ( he got life!!!!!) how come you do more when you get 30 years? just another wonderful quirk of our oft admired penal system AH HEM. Gordon R
Normally, I would say - let him rot in jail. However, the jails are full and he would free up a place for someone who represented more threat to society. He may be a burden on the taxpayer in prison, but it will cost a lot more keeping him there. People have done far worse and served less time. Blackbart
He should stay in prison despite his age and ill health.A man died as a result of being hit over the head during the train robbery and although it was always rumoured to be Buster Edwards who was responsible-they're all guilty by association. They committed a crime-end of. I think the guard died of lukemia years later, not by being hit on the head....Or have i just imagined that Unfortunately he done his parole time when he was still young and fit by escaping so leave him where he is. magnamaniac
Hi We should never have taken him back in to this country. He was a broken man living on hand outs and I would not have lost any sleep with him escaping justice and dying. But justice must be done, so lets keep him inside until he meets his parole criteria. kdubya
eh... i thought he WAS a murderer!! The train driver, Jack Mills, was beaten unconscious during the robbery. He died of an unrelated illness in 1970. never let the facts get in the way of a good story eh! KW
