Rarerims
A friend picked up a box of these in the week 100 metri Cheddite cartridges says on the box (albeit in italian) for use UP TO 200 metres http://www.chedditeitaly.com/cartucce/Scheda.asp?Id=52 Only for use in up to 1/2 choke guns. From what I can tell from the limited explanation on the internet, the shot is fully enclosed in a 'capsule' RFD said he patterned them at 100yds and the spread was only 12" B) , he also said he'd bagged a crow @ 125 yrd Anyone ever tried these at all?? I was under the impression 70yds was about it for a shotgun (and even that borderline)
Ozzy Fudd
havnt tried them but sounds interesting, let us know what happens when your mate tries them out
Vince Green
Capsulated shot is section 1. It counts as a solid.

Andy H
They are made using a gualandi bior wad over the powder and a gualandi turbo tube style shotcup inverted over the shot column .
Rarerims
Has anyone used them? are the claims 'up to 200metres' realistic?
stevethevanman
Sounds abit illegal to me if it is section 1....sounds like the old HBS idea, if it is grouping that tight.
Vince Green
Has anyone used them? are the claims 'up to 200metres' realistic? No its not realistic, anyone who has used solid slugs will know that they drop like mad even over 100 yds range.
mikee
it sounds a little illegal and a lot dangerous i know plenty of people who cant hit a pigeon at 40yds do they need the tools to help them shoot at 150yds, and can you imagine what it would be like roost shooting in feb all the pin heads shooting at 70yd birds can now double their range mikee
Zapp
Never heard of the 100 metre carts, but I do know that 70 yards is way over the odds. ZB
stevew
York Guns are selling these, £10 for a box of 10. I went to get some cartridges for clays and pigeons, got some from the same maker in a 32g 6 fibre for £38/250 and they're a good cartridge. The salesman mentioned the 100 metre cartridges saying they were for foxes, the main benefit being that they didn't start to spread out until they reached about 40 yards, didn't mention anything about being section 1 though. I was tempted to get a box to try but didn't bother. Steve
Dougy
They sound very much like something i asked about on here some years ago, "Double impact" i think they were called, I think maybe Spanish the ones i saw , the test i saw looked very impressive. I think the video showed Aluminium sheets spread out over 100yards every 10yards or so and then a shot was fired and then showed the pattern on the sheets using slow motion. From what i remember the cartridge had 2 shot patterns the first being about 40 plus yards and another quite a bit further out that seemed to group quite tight to around 60-70yrds plus. i can only imagine the shot were held together by some type of addesive I would certianly have given them ago on fox given the chance
Rarerims
Thats what they were sold to my friend as 'this is what you want for foxes' I'd be suprised if TWO well known gun shops sold them, when they were FAC only To clarify im not asking because I want to shoot at stuff 200yds away!! Wondered if we could increase the safe killing yardage on foxes etc (normallly we limit ourselves to around 30yds, with bb's or 3 shot)
al4x
Interesting idea and obviously they aren't slugs just behave a little like them. not sure how spread is affected by the cup in front or whether they would be much use on foxes but at £1 a shot you want to have deep pockets
bobt
could you homeload them?
Andy H
I do not see why you cannot homeload them I have already given the wad details , They are from the patent description and drawings.
Ferret Master
I wouldn't fancy trying to homeload them. Floating Chamber's input would be most interesting... FM
Floating Chamber
Been there, dunnit, waste of time. There are other ways, all potentially dangerous. Future scenario: Man out shooting with them; another bloke walking his dog two fields away; 'I've been shot at!' Say no more. Leave them to the mad Europeans. Save your money, get some instruction and practice and conceal yourself better! Zapp? Rarerims
Fair does! Would you suggest he doesnt even fire them? Did you ever pattern them?
njc110381
They sound great if you treat them right. With that kind of spread they're probably not much use for anything moving. I'd carry a couple on my belt for long sitting bunnies and Foxes. If you could get AAAs to pattern inside a 12" circle at range they may actually be worth using and would hit hard!
