Picked up DB at 09:00 and we went out to some wheat that needed to be cut. Parking in the gateway to the field, we counted 30+ coming to the field in 5 minutes. We decided to contact the farmer. He said ok, but check with the keeper. The keeper didn't want us to shoot that field so we said could we shoot the flightline??. He said 'no' and the only place that we could shoot was an old rape stubble field about 500 yards off the flightline. We set up at about 11:00 and shot until 16.30. We ended up with a bag of 282. The keeper came down on his way to feed the birds and sdaid 'You had a good day then??', but we showed him the flightline across the river which was still busy with birds going to the wheat stubble. Had we been on that line, we would have bagged 400+

The next day, we went in the opposite direction and found a shooter one on of our fields. Checking to see if he had got permission, we found that this had been granted. We picked up two of his birds that he had shot and found that they were full of beans. We then left him and found the bean field. Phoning the farmer, he said 'Fine, carry on but be careful of the old horse' and gave us the number of the owner and said 'check with her'. She agreed for us to shoot, but said go to the top field furthest away from the stable, which was the worst position to shoot from, however we ended up with a bag of 238.

Not bad for a total of 520 for the weekend!!

the way i see it is like this, iv just looked at two posts from you, one saying you hate being told where to shoot, and the other one moaning about other shooters, but i see you have shot over 600 pigeons in the last couple or three days, so how about less of your moaning and be glad of what you have got, as most on hear would kill for the numbers your getting, you poor sod, my heart bleeds for you
