Providing you have a letter from your permission saying you are carrying out pest control there is no problem. If you go on BASC coronavirus website it will give you all the advice.I can still carry out pest control on the farms I go to and also feed the pheasants as this is said to be essential work.Make sure you always carry your letters with you.

Great result, well done. Can only be a good thing when you meet up with like minded people.

People must be looking at Wales thinking what on earth is going on.Boarders being patrolled ,people being stopped from travelling, supermarkets being stopped from selling everyday items.Drakeford and his cabinet are ruling with a big stick.People will only take so much.Of coarse we do not want this terrible pandemic to take control but people must be able to make decisions on their own. -
Interesting,I think they are starch based so probably not toxic to livestock, can't be sure though.

I remember my father coming off shift and all the men from his shift went up to help.Never said much about it really but you could tell it affected all the people there.Rest in peace .

Will We See The Season Out ? , I Have Got My Doubts Now
greylag replied to marsh man's topic in General Shooting Matters
All shooting in Wales apart from pest control on stop for at least two weeks from Friday.Everyone hoping that after Nov 9th when the lockdown ends we will attempt to get some shooting in. -
No ,not really wildfowling ,more duck flighting.Make sure the land comes with sporting rights.

Don't want to make a habit of informing them.Thin end of the wedge.

Lovely use of a truly wild prize, and lovely memories.

I never refuse a brace or two and am quite pleased when guns refuse their brace.,as long as someone is using this excellent resource it didn't matter. This year will be very different ,with the Welsh lockdown as there will not be the shooting, beating ,or picking up which is my usual source of game.

Drakeford was always going to be the first to lockdown. The man is afraid of his own shadow.Wales was the last to come out of the lockdown Inthe summer. We have had localised lockdowns for weeks that have done nothing. There are areas of Wales that will have been in some sort of lockdown since early September.Goodness knows what the ""Welsh Government" will do after the next two weeks.Watch this space. We might as well put the guns away until mid November,if we are lucky.

I think I will have to take the 5th amendment.,for fear of incriminating myself. -

Another great adventure.Lovely wind and a smashing flight..You can't beat a bit of rough weather. -
Isn't it great when a surprise bunch of geese suddenly appear. You can't quite believe your eyes. Then you think "don't miss, don't miss" and down it comes.Great great feeling, people who don't do what we do just can't understand the feeling of utter joy and sadness in almost the same second. Well done you and must not forget Ted,another good retrieve.

I must admit I use my AYA much more of late,it feels right, and I know where the cartridges are after a shot and I don't need to hunt for the ejected shells which could be anywhere but the dog is pretty good at finding them.
-
Used a pump once,after the first shot forgot to pump,brain freeze.Never again.Using a AYA 3 inch may.at the moment,still a have my auto but it's lovely using the s/side.

Environment Bill - lead shot ban from 1st January 2023
greylag replied to rbrowning2's topic in General Shooting Matters
Nobody is denying that BASC was part of the consortium of organisations that has called for a transition away from lead, and to be fair we should all have seen it coming.Non toxic in any form has to be the way forward, you are never going to be shooting the extreme targets you see on some videos, but should we want to?,if you want extreme target shooting ,go clay shooting. There is no live game shooting I take part in that I would be quite happy to use steel or some form of non toxic shot. -

Think positive man.We will be using steel or other non toxic shot in the future, and with the right attitude shooting will continue for many years.Look forward and think positive. It doesn't matter how many times you are told by a variety of people you are determined to condemn our way of life to history. -

It was not only BASC that signed up to the phasing out of lead, but it just seems Clangerman has a real beef with BASC.Lead is going so the sooner we get our heads around it ,the better it will be.Wildfowlers have been using steel for what seems forever,in fact my son's know no other load over wetlands and have no complaints .The cartridge manufacturers will adapt and bring out different loads for different guns. The lose of lead will not be the loss of shooting not for me ,my family or my friends.
