  1. Corbyn has not got the intellect or the energy to be PM. That would mean having to get up in the morning and actually work. Two things he has never had to do in his whole life. I genuinely can't see him starting now
  2. To me she has every appearance of being an out and out self publicist. Its more about promoting her and her personal profile than it is about the cause she claims to espouse.
  3. No it comes under having any "live" screen visible to the driver apparently and it pre dates the phone legislation. I agree though its confusing and unclear. When I used to drive between South Wales and London most weeks on a Sunday evening I regularly saw people with things like MOTD or Shrek playing on ipads or phones visible on the dash when I was following them. Presumably for the benefit of a passenger but if its on and you are driving you are going to start watching too. Its all too easy these days
  4. And lots of people are looking at how they can get famous and/or make lots of money out of it too.
  5. Sat Nav on your phone is already technically illegal when driving. They told me that on my speed awareness course. The law says you cannot use your phone when driving, it doesn't discriminate what that use is. Neither does it say that putting your phone it a cradle makes it legal.
  6. What they are saying is a valid argument. They say now that research has shown that the risk is not significantly reduced by using hands free devices as they first thought. Its the conversation that is the distraction, not how its being delivered to the driver.
  7. Lots of organisations are refusing to countersign all sorts of applications because of the rise in identity fraud
  8. I'll bet more foxes have been shot with a .22RF over the years than any other calibre. Using centre fire rifles for foxing is a comparatively new thing really
  9. Not any more, that's been done away with now. Free to buy, even mail order
  10. With all the things going on in this country at the moment and Labour, the Party officially in opposition (believe it or not) comes up with "we are going to ban grouse shooting?? Well that means they have skipped the first several hundred more important they ought to be talking about but aren't, because they haven't got a clue what to say. Channel 4 should recognise this as a tactical cop out, an engineered distraction to divert attention away from more pressing issues.
  11. My friend is looking in that area at the moment for a retirement home and about that price too. Doubt he would remember Jack Hargreaves or revere his memory like we do.
  12. The idea that animal farming is a significant cause of climate change, if you take a step back and consider it for a moment, is totally pathetic.
  13. I think an MOT is a very cheap easy way of having my car checked over. Some of the Eastern Europeans I work with drive cars that are death traps. Why risk your family in something like that?
  14. Would have to look at your house in detail to say for sure but far more than 50% of alleged "damp" is actually condensation. Older houses were never intended to be centrally heated or have air tight double glazing. They didn't expect people to have showers every day or run washing machines inside the house. Instead they had one fire downstairs and drafty windows in cold unheated rooms throughout the rest of the house. A coal fire in the front room would draw huge amounts of air through the house and send it up the chimney but it was ventilation. Something modern houses lack
  15. I have always believed in small shot for pigeons. Underneath that mass of feathers is an unusually small body. Archie Coats all those years back said sevens and his word is good enough for me
  16. It was such a stupid thing to do, (as is evident), she had so much to lose. I seriously think she believed she was untouchable That makes it all the more satisfying to watch
  17. There are questions too about the validity of her election as an MP because of the old labour chestnut postal vote rigging appears to have given her the slim majority that got her in. All this trouble just to try and avoid a £60 fine and two points on her licence. She probably would have got off with a speed awareness course anyway.
  18. But he is not likely to because he doesn't want all the paperwork, unless there is a good reason.
  19. I've had her, she's rubbish in the sack
  20. Free trade only benefits the country doing the selling, it disadvantages the country doing the buying because they lose out on the import duty they would otherwise be charging. We are a net importer, our trade with EU is 70-100 billion adverse. No advantage to UK in a free trade agreement
  21. I know somebody who just bought a chocolate Labrador puppy for many thousands of pounds. To me its madness, beyond madness to pay that
  22. Lady shaving products are in the ascendency, maybe not so dumb. I bought some disposable razors in USA ten for 89c brilliant quality and they will last me a year. Gillette mens razors are so expensive now its off the scale. I dumped mine. Maybe, the future is in shaving ladies bits?
  23. TBH, nobody cares, there never was a customs border with Ireland. There was a military presence but that was to stop the terrorists (unsuccessfully), nobody ever checked the trucks for smuggled goods. The majority of smugglers and terrorists used the many back roads anyway. The majority of the goods going north was only farm produce anyway.
