  1. You are, of course, spot on Lloyd90 - although my family will not use any command other than the ones I use and they would never try to train nor punish him unless I am there - we have a strict understanding in this matter.
  2. I must be extremly lucky - my (rescue) Springer was barely 6 months old when we first got him, as soon as we got him home I let him out in the garden after the car journey home. My eldest daughter rolled a ball passed him as he was looking nervous, in the hope of distracting him, and he duly ran to it, picked it up then returned it to her hand. He has done the same now for 6 years - hold out your hand and he will place the ball in it, even a stranger.
  3. Agree 12gauge82 - but put a cholate cake and a sunday roast in front of a dog and it will eat both then decorate your soft furnishings.
  4. What makes me smile is people saying that their "dog loves" such and such a rubbish food and use it as justification for buying cheap food. When you consider the fact that many dogs will eat other dogs faeces you might want to question their ability to distinguish between good and bad foods.

I think we should take a moment to consider the desperation that causes such men to take these severe actions - in some countries they cannot even get Bake Off in colour.
  6. Been a good 25 yearts since I made homebrew - got all the gear so anyone recommend a good kit to start me off - I tend to prefer Hobgoblin syle Ales but I'm willing to give anything a go.
  7. If you are happy feeding them the stuff then that's great - all I suggested was that you read the review, if you have done so and are still OK with your choice that's fine by me - none of my business, but problems will come later in life if you feed a dog a poor diet. There are so many choices out there now and no excuses for not doing your homework - my Dogs food is carefully chosen with a view to quality and price - I feel that it's the very least I can do for my animals.
  8. Mines the 2.0ltr turbo 1999. Engine pulls like a train and she is the best car I've ever owned for fuel, pretty sure she's nearly 40mpg - bodywork is ,er, rough.
  9. You Dog food is rated as amoungst the worst on the market - the independant website "allaboutdogfood" actually gives a red flag warning due to it's very poor nutritional content. Not having a go - but I think, for the sake of your Dogs health, you should look around at other options. Buy big bags from sellers such as Bitiba and you should find something suitable.
  10. She's beautiful - I'm dreading losing my boy, even though he's only 6 he has heart problems, he is full of life at the moment but knowing that it could end at any moment often finds me in tears - nothing on 2 legs has ever come close to my bond with him.
  11. Nothing really - bought a 1000 cartridges a couple of years ago and still not half way through them as I seem to have been given loads over the years. No rent on the 11k acres I cover so it's all just down to ammo for the puffgun - pennies over the year. In my case it's hard to think of a cheaper hobby. Did spend £30 on 28g ammo this year so it's not all roses.
  12. Follow ultrastu's advice - he's pretty much on the money. ( he usually is but dont tell him I said so)
  13. Demonic69 - mine is the VIGO 12 ltr 91303 and the scratter is the Hobby fruit crusher 91102 - been used twice, chap I bought it from paid nearly £400 - I paid £70 so I'm happy. I really would keep an eye out for a second hand one.
  14. You can get a rough cider really easily - simply bottle the juice with a Camden Tablet per gallon then pop a cotton wool ball in the neck of the bottle - Apples have yeast on their skins that will ferment the juice.
  15. Sooooo - long story short. Local Woodland is dotted with Apple Trees and I have noticed the huge amount of Apples recently that are just rotting on the floor. Casually browsing Faceache sales page I happen upon a press and Scratter, used once, for a bargain price locally so a quick jaunt in the jolopy and she's mine. Pressed my first batch today and the family all gathered round for a tasting, we waited an hour to allow the juice to cool then all took a sip......OMG - it is so nice that it is difficult to stop halfway through a glass. Got a bit over a litre for 10 minutes of collecting the fruit so I'm back out tommorow for an olympic gathering session. Anyone else doing this?
  16. If your parcel does get nicked, sorry, go missing - you try claiming, it's an absolute nightmare and some insurance only covers the actual cost of postage, not the goods. The PO has had it's day and should be allowed to die a natural and inevitable death. All through Covid I had one parcel after another delayed for so long that it would often have been quicker to walk to the senders address and collect it myself - PO response was always to blame Covid yet couriers such as DPD could deliver items across the country next day - as for value - I posted 34kg of bit's and pieces to my son in the Netherlands, PO quite was just over £100 for a 4-5 day service.....DPD was £34 for 48 hour delivery.
  17. As a first machine the Garret ACE250 takes a lot of beating - you can pick them up for around £100 on facebook then fit a bluetooth transmitter for under a tenner and headphones around £25 - gives you a machine more than capable of finding stuff down to 6-7 inches depending on soil conditions. If you decide against the hobby you will lose very little on selling the machine. I have witnessed these little units constantly out performing far more expensive machines many times - the simplicity of use is a huge bonus in the field.
  18. IMHO Yumove is rip off - you can buy the main ingredients for pennies - don't let the blurb fool you - there is no such thing as "dog" glucosamine, it's the same as human glucosamine and green lipped mussel powder is under £10 for a couple of months supply.
  19. I give my Spaniels Glucosamine (500mg) and Cod Liver Oil (500mg) every day - you can buy them from Tesco.
  20. My Ducati gets an advisory every year for a loud exhaust - never been failed for it though or pulled over by the plod.
  21. Think it would need to be a simple squirrel as well AVB - there is so much wild food available at the moment that they will need a 3 course a la carte menu with a nutty chaser, romantic candles and table service to tempt them down in any numbers. However building a feeder now will let them get used to it and once the cold weather starts to bite their little bushy backsides and wild food dries up they will come with confidence - then you can hit them hard.
  22. Absolutely superb guns - can be stiff cos they take a couple of lifetimes to run in - the TULA factory have built some decent guns in the past including an exhibition version of this one for sale - £75 is not a sale, it's legalised theft!! Without starting an argument, pretty sure you will find that TULA were a separate company from Baikal - at least they were when I contacted them around 10 years ago.
  23. How stupid am I - it's a V40 - number plate btw is not unusual.
  24. PM Me your address Mr humperdingle and I will get them in the post - whatever the postage comes to I would ask that you donate to the next charity you happen upon.
