Why Can't People Tell It As It Is?
bruno22rf replied to wymberley's topic in General Shooting Matters
Are you on Steroids? I take a tiny 5mg Prednisolone every other day and it keeps the pain away - if I'm going out with a Shotgun or going to be doing some kind of strenuous task, I just double the dose. -
Superb when working as it should - but some have had leaking problems that HC seen unable to fix, my shooting pal had one that went back to HC 3 times before he finally lost faith and actually gave it away. Got to love it cos it can be a killing machine, but I prefer the simplicity and reliability of the S410, hand on heart I would say the S410 carbine takes a hell of a lot of beating.

Possible heatstroke? Border Terrier - Advice
bruno22rf replied to Bobba's topic in Dogs and Dog Training
We mist spray our Dogs during the day and have a kids paddling pool in the garden - Dogs lose heat through their feet, only other thing is Ice Cubes in the water - they eat them thus increasing their water intake. -
Would it not be wiser to make the burgers - cook them and then freeze them - much the same as shop bought frozen burgers.
-
Along the lines of baking soda - cover chicken pieces with Bicarbonate of Soda and leave it for 20-30 minutes - rinse it and dry it as best you can, no more chewy dry chicken - works best with breast meat as thats more prone to drying as it cooks.

We use a press and it goes in the Dishwasher - if you do buy one then the secret is to not press too hard and ,once formed, leave them in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Done this before - couple of hours with an experience gun then a note to the FEO giving an opinion on the suitability of the applicant. Quite happy to do it again if you need but I'm in Bucks .

With the greatest respect, of the 2 descriptions - "large commercial partridge shoot" and "Red Kite" I have little doubt which I detest the most.
-
A sparrowhawk in your garden is something to be appreciated, not scorned. Birds of prey do what they do best to survive, what's the problem with Red Kites? If you want to look at pointless predation maybe you should look around at our feline pets?

Seem to recall I paid £75 a couple of years ago.

All the reviews I have seen seem to say that it's a Allen headed bolt.

We have 2 Bullace trees just outside our town - within seconds of the fruit becoming ripe some *** picks the lot.

Always found Old Spice seemed to deter them in the old days but these days absolutely nothing ever bites me ! Everybody around me, yes, but me - not even a nibble?
-
Talking about bikes - just picked up a 1997 Ducati ST2 from the bay of plenty for £1k - even more of a bargain when you consider that she's done less than 2.5k miles in her 23 years (old mot's prove mileage is genuine) - stunning condition, just wish I could get my leg over the blooming thing!

Tesco mince beef and onion (tin) + Tin of spuds + tinned mixed Veg, we call it slop, dip bread in it and it's gorgeous! Aldi tinned curry is good and rice is easy to boil , Big Soups are sometimes on offer for £1 and Eggs are cheap and versatile.

I own and use a Wildcat but I would not recommend one if you are a relative beginner to the Air Rifle scene. The scope rail on these is pretty high and makes range estimation and relevant hold over/under more critical than on a ,say, S510.

Who said I was speeding? If you want to get judgemental and jump on your high horse showing heart wrenching examples to justify your opinion then jog on - doesn't make you a legend either.
-
S510 carbine US - not a thumbhole but new just a shade under £1k for the regulated version.

I always give them the middle finger and speed up - had a couple of letters from the police regarding reports sent by the local "Speed watch" group so I wrote to the group telling them exactly what I thought of them and mentioning that no serious accidents involving speed had ever been reported on that piece of road and that they were likely to cause an accident by distracting drivers.

Rosson, Charles S. & Co. Boxlock non ejector 12 gauge
bruno22rf replied to Gun Watch's topic in Guns for Sale (Trade)
Most likely made in Brum but sold through the Norwich shop, uneducated guess though. -
Let them know, in writing, that you are unhappy about the reliability of the vehicle. Advise them that you have been ,so far, reasonable and have followed the advice given by the manufacturer and have made the vehicle readily available for them to inspect and repair but the situation is now costing you financial loss and damaging your business as you are reluctant to travel any distance. They should clearly be informed that you will give them one final opportunity to fix the vehicle or you will return it and demand a full refund.

Might be worth remembering that just becuse you fill your feeders with a mountain of Beluga Caviar flavoured Walnuts, it doesn't mean they will feed - lots of variables with squirrels on feeders.

Had one many years ago and it did look pretty, but it was also obvious that the quality was somewhat lacking with the wood losing its lustre after a couple of years and the metal seemingly quite soft. You say that you wouldn't lean a 525 etc against a post but then nor should you lean a £50 Balkal against one - simply bad practice. Personally I would go for a used quality gun every time - but it needs to fit first and foremost, many who feel that a Browning becomes an extension to their arm will find a Beretta makes then feel disjointed and vice versa so try before you buy.Older Miroku's can be picked up fairly priced and are generally sound investments. As for appearance, I think I know what most shooters think about cheap guns in fancy clothes - the quality of a gun speaks volumes and its often what you cannot see that gives the gun class rather than what you can.

All 3 should have their licences revoked and do time - this is the truly unacceptable side of shooting.

I had a very similar problem with my local surgery, I started getting letters from TVP saying that my application still hadn't been returned and that time was running out. I had already rang the surgery 3 times then the final time I rang and asked the Practice Manager to call the Firearms dept and explain the delay, I also told him that, if my guns had to go into storage (13 of them) then I would take legal action to reclaim my costs - guess what was ready next day!!
