  1. Used to get hundreds of them near a stream where I was born in Bucks - not seen one now though for 25 years or so.
  2. Light as a feather my KOFS but cartridges can be expensive - buying in bulk saves loads though.I use 19g 7's and recoil is barely noticable - if you do buy a KOFS make sure you see it in the flesh - seen some with terrible wood whilst others are pretty good. Mine does everything I ask of it, trigger is good and ejection is positive, only thing I don't like is the 30" barrels (you can get 28") - they are quite heavy compared to the action which makes the gun front heavy.
  3. Have a look at the KOFS Sceptre - in 28 or 410 gauge, multi choke - buy the normal model then, for less than £70, you can buy a brand new walnut junior stock and simply bolt it on - should pick one up for under £400 used.
  4. Easy enough to do yourself but if you need a decent pest guy then Hunter Pest Services in Buckingham are very good - 07976802326.
  5. Beggars belief - some Black dude gets killed in America and this Country is up in arms - but bring a known terrorist into the country and nothing.......
  6. Triggers on mine are pretty good, if anything a little light, - easy enough to whip the stock off and take a look - although now I can add your findings to my book of excuses as to why I keep missing things.
  7. If only one person in power had half a pair of balls.
  8. Natalia Doran from "urban squirrels" - always thought that it was illegal to assist or release vermin?
  9. You can get a Gunsmith to grind down the Hammer springs - makes them more pleasant to use.
  10. Now the lads been mentioned on here, he could go on Celebrity Masterchef - cannot be any worse than the detritus they have on this season - first time ever I've found it too ridiculous to even flick through.
  11. Oddly enough I was in a similar position about 20 years ago (omg - how time flies), had read countless accounts in the Airgun rags about people having to Bulldoze heaps of dead Rats into pits and there was me - hardly ever seen a Rat. I was actually contemplating this sorry state of affairs on my way home when a big ugly Rat ran across the road in front of me! Anyhoo, couple of days later, returning from a Pigeon outing, my mate and I happened upon a Farm that was black with Crows - fortunately the owner was standing at the gate chatting.Brief introductions over we were given permission to shoot the crows but, as the owner explained, Rats were his main problem. We were dubious to start with, a few nights later, when we turned up for our first sortie - I had a TX200 whilst my mate a Falcon PCP - nothing!! Then it started to get dark and Rats appeared like magic from every nook and cranny - so close that we couldn't focus the scopes on them and resorted to looking down the side of our barrels and lining up each Rat best we could.Talk about undergunned!! On the basis of this single visit the following w/end we returned armed with a 3 shot bolt action .22 shotgun and a 3 shot semi auto 9mm . Most nights we would shoot 150 + before retiring to our local watering hole then returning around an hour later for the rest. We had thought that we were doing an excellent job but after a couple of months we bumped into the owner - he was really annoyed as the 25kg tub of poison he had had delivered the previous day, had been chewed open and the entire contents consumed. We never picked up many dead Rats at all - the Pigs used to eat then as they dropped!!
  12. Why **** around with the Green Party - you are simply fanning their Ego. Is what the 50,000 tree huggers are saying really damaging to the 150,000+ BASC members? Sticks and Stones etc.
  13. Nothing really to do with Baikal - the TULA factory stands alone. They even made exhibition grade guns in this model back in the 60's - they get under your skin and you cannot help but grow a kind of affection for them - you don't realise till you've sold them.
  14. Unfortunately this model only shoots Jelly Beans - unusual, I know, but that's the honest truth of the matter. If I send you £50, you could post the gun to me, no questions, and I will make sure she gets looked after.

    Looks like Cornflower to me?
  16. Didn't I notice that ,at last years AGM, you already had a 6 million "fighting fund"? What has that been SUCCESSFULLY used for? Fighting to get to the bar first?
  17. Yep, some sternly written letters should solve all our problems alright.
  18. Can loan you one for a couple of months if that helps?
  19. Used to keep them in the fridge then break off the filter before smoking......really hit the back of your throat, some Yank I knew taught me to do it this way.
  20. Pretty sure he's right - you need to send your ticket, recorded delivery, the seller then puts the gun on it and returns your ticket to you - then sends the gun to your RFD - he will only then release the gun when he see's your ticket. It's all to make life simple and easy for us.....apart from the risk of the PO losing your licence and the inevitable delays with snailmail.
  21. Had mine 7-8 years and used it many, many times - accuracy is, I believe +-1%, if you manage to shoot it you should perhaps take up another hobby.
  22. As zapp says - plan to go without for a couple of days then think about the times you have beaten the craving over those days - you really want to waste them? The cravings will get less and less but avoid situations where you normally stop and smoke.I gave up first attempt after 30+ years of 40 ish Marlboro/day - consultant simply said stop - or die.
  23. pm "ant.mass" he had some reasonable scopes for sale a few weeks back - if you search the Wanted section you should find my "period scope" post and he has a list on there.
  24. Personally I prefer Nikko Stirling scopes, you could buy a Mountmaster for next to nothing - I would search for something with better glass that's second hand. Going to need to be Air Rifle dedicated or AO if not - cannot stand ir but that's just me. The S410 is a superbly accurate Rifle - give it the eyes it deserves.
  25. You could try Mice! - on the Airgun section often, he might be able to help.
