TBH TIGHTCHOKE - shopped at Iceland often in the past but found their chicken meals full of horrid reconstructed meat - tastes rubbery, they do, however, make a good Kebab meat.

Lloyd - the best one by far is the frozen one - Aldi do a fresh one but it's nowhere near as good as the frozen.

"Bought by many" quote for liability only - £14.50/month - that's £174/year!!! Country Cover Club includes liability for around £30/year. On top of the BBM want £50/month to insure him - £600/year. He has existing problems with his heart - my vet charges £63/month for his meds, I buy them from Animed for £18 so it's not hard to see why insurance costs are so high. Listening to an article on the Radio a short while back re Pet Insurance and current practice with some Insurance companies appears to be that you are only covered at certain veterinary practices - if your Dog was injured and you took him to the nearest Vet you may find you are not covered - to make matters worse the Insurance companies involved do not publish a list of who you can/cannot use.

Loads on youtube - most important thing is that you release any pressure before attacking it with a Hammer.Personally I would ring around for the price of a service - ths should include O ring replacement and it will ensure that the gun remains legal as well as carrying some kind of warranty on the work. Had mine serviced middle of last year and it cost £70 with the seals.

Matt (the mannequin) Manning seems to be Daystates rentboy in the clip re this gun. Looks like it has a mini screen (Gameboy size) on the side of the stock so you can waste countless hours programming your new pride and joy, you can probably play Call of Duty on it as well. You will have to purchase extra barrels (they seem to be calling them barrels now rather than liners) if you want to pop different calibre projectiles or slugs down the pipe. Cannot see any point in such a gun in this country but as an FAC it could work, however, that sort of money would buy you an Annie.17hmr and a .22lr and you would still have enough change to feed them for years.
-
As already mentioned - cock it then try. However, if it has lost air whilst being stored you need to get her serviced and the O rings replaced - you can do it yourself if you are Mechanicaly minded.

If you have a tendency to "hang" onto the trigger you could try wearing a glove - you'll be surprised at the difference it makes.
-
You're right figgy - got Giles latest lover mixed up with his ex ,Belas.
-
Wouldn't be surprised to find it had several Ballcock parts - same company now. I would suggest they artificially create a demand for it by calling it a limited edition and send Giles and Tony on an all expenses paid romantic jolly to the other side of the world to sing its praises - further if possible.

Stu, you need to change your supplier m8. I still refer to your previous comment regarding the scarcity of the 28G - have a quick look on Guntrader and see how many 28G OU's are for sale compared to .410's. I would also like to add for those who extol the .410's diminutive size - the 28G is often built on the same action - the cartridge is around 3mm larger in diameter - very little difference.
-
The 28G is renowned for the quality of the pattern, end of. As for nobody stocking the 28G - most dealers are now happily flogging Turkish OU 28G guns and the 3 nearest me all have several - another can order as they don't actually carry stock anymore. Stuffing cartridges in your pocket? pretty sure I could put over 100 in my pockets no problems.
-
"Silly"? Stu, Do explain. Why buy a small gauge gun then have to use Magnum cartridges to deliver a decent payload - the 28G throws 19gms (your average .410 3" load) with ease as well as producing a far better pattern.
-
If you're going to stuff 3" cartridges in the little thing all the time you might as well buy a 28G.

Puma socks from Sports Direct rarely last 100 yards before a selection of holes appear - best avoided.
-
"Slow and fiddly to load?" - your left hand falls naturally where the anti bear trap sits, the only added movement is to depress it with your fingers - takes nanoseconds and is easily achieved as your right arm extends to reach the under lever. The breach is then exposed on cocking and is big enough to easily thumb a pellet home unless you have hands like a shovel. The difference between the 2, loading wise, is completely irrelevant in the real world, what brings home the Bacon is accuracy - the HW will never compete against the TX unless considerable tuning/fettling has been undertaken.
-
Equivalent eh? Scotland has the Krankies.
-
It's heavy for a reason OPP - it's made of steel that's thick enough to last a lifetime. Stick a LW tube on the end of a ,pretty much customised, action and you have the TX. Hand on heart OPP - if you found yourself stranded on an Island and knew you were going to be there for the rest of your life - which of the 2 would you choose?
-
Or, if you are lucky and patient, a proper Gun like the TX200!

Does anybody actually believe, hand on heart, that us voluntarily giving up lead will protect our sport from constant restrictive legislation that will , sooner rather than later, outlaw our love of Guns and Shooting? This current proposal is no more than another nail in our Coffin. The fact that the vast majority of us, and those who speak for us at a higher level, are all bending over and dropping their trousers must have the likes of Packham and his chums laughing at our paltry resistance. I'M NOT VOLUNTEERING TO STOP USING LEAD.

Twin Wall Polycarbonate panels are available from some builders merchants - or, as ever, Ebay is your friend - run a bead of Silicone along the top and bottom edges to prevent water ingress and "fogging". Make sure your plants don't get too hot - my greenhouse often hit the low 40's last year and my Tomatoes suffered - I had a couple of young plants left over after filling the Greenhouse and couldn't stand to see them thrown away - popped them in a raised bed and just ignored them......Tomatoes were at least 3 times the size of the Greenhouse ones!!! If blight is a problem then 1x 75mg dissolvable Aspirin in a litre of water and sprayed over the plant is effective.

Why can we not simply label all Game shot with lead? The end consumer then decides if they want to take the risk of eating the meat - works with Raw Milk?
-
Lidl or Aldi used to do their own version - the Beef and Tomato (50p from memory) tasted good if you added ketchup and a teaspoon of beef gravy powder.

Does David Nickerson want fries with that?

Looking at her, I can actually believe that!
