You do it your way B725 and i'll do it mine - there is no pressure on the Dog whatsoever - you simply use his uncertainty to encourage him to follow the one thing that he knows - you, it's worked for me that last 5 times that I have had new dogs and they all follow me without question, I do not punish or force them, simply use their natural instinct to join a pack.

On a slightly different note - a mate of mine has a 850 Commando from the mid 70's that's been sat in his garage for over 20 years - mint as far as I can see, what a waste.

Strewth Mice - a little blunt aren't you?

I have 2 males springers (both rescue) and I always do the same first thing - take him out to a totally unknown area and make him sit - then walk away, don't look back until you are at least 50 yards away from where you left him - if the Dog is going to be easy to train then when you turn around he will be there with you - he accepts you as Alpha. Avoid putting him on a lead unless absolutely necessary, personally I believe that a Dog on a lead has one desire - to get away. If he has been on a lead too much then when you remove it he will struggle to stay with you - he will want to run and explore and this is one of the first steps towards disobedience. Give him time and love/affection - do something he enjoys at the same time every night - play ball/hide treats etc then try and settle him on your lap and stroke him till he falls asleep - this bonding will play dividends as his trust grows in you. ENJOY - a Dog will change your life (and of those around you) for the better with patience and respect he will be the best friend you will ever have.

Much like an early settlement fee then?

Oddly enough, after reading the OP's post I went meat free at our local Indian Saturday evening - Tikka Masala sauce, Onion Bhaji's and Vegetable Niramish - with Garlic and Coriander Naan bread it was absolutely superb, in fact I would say better than with my usual Chicken because I didn't leave feeling like I had swallowed a Medicinecene Ball.

Credit card (sec75) covers you up to £30k so you would be wise to pay at least a deposit (min £100 I think) with your card.

If you release the bottle and let the air escape, when you start to disassemble the gun won't the pressure in the reg make life a little,er, exiting?

Isn't it a case of unscrewing the buddy bottle a turn or so then just firing off into a towel or something - should only take a minute and be pretty quiet? On the other hand the vast majority of victims, sorry, owners of the R10 seem to swear by a Bowkett fettle. I am beginning to think that there may be too many days at the end of your Pay Packet.

Did it get fixed Mice? Walk in the park for an engineer such as yourself - don't keep us in suspense - we don't need a blow by blow account, just let us know how many times the other half warned you about "using language like that" and we can paint our own picture.

Used to get mine from Peter Starley in Warwick - shouldn't be too far from you and he is well worth a visit - few years back since I went though.

I just logged on no problems so the site is OK.

Quick scan of tinternet suggests that some pellets are prone to jamming the mag?

So glad you answered Stu - BUT if you are comparing accuracy twixt one gun and another then you simply cannot include wind because it's an unknown, therefore only gravity effects the flight of a projectile where we are concerned, and, as we all know gravity has zero effect on sideways movement. So if you shoot 2 different barrels down the exact same axis, how is one projectile managing to alter course as it travels further away - it is also constantly losing it's rpm. Let's take a Gyroscope, for example, spin one at 200 rpm and the other at 500 rpm - in the context that we are discussing flight time is waaaay less than a 10 seconds - but does the slower spinning Gyro veer off course?

If a BSA barrel is more accurate at 50 yards than an FX tube - how, on earth can the reverse be true at a greater range? Are you suggesting that a pellet fired from the FX is re aligning itself with the target as the range increases - is it equipped with a guidance system that I am unaware of or does the pellet fired from a BSA reach 50 yards in tight formation then does something akin to the Red Arrows "Vixen break" as it sees the 50 yard marker?

The list of what's allowed from 14/6/19

So am I correct in thinking that the Collard Dove is off the menu? Seems quite a few hunting clip on the tube where they are still being shot. -
Correct - if you are a known fiddler - many are not and simply move around. The team that came to our school were part of Social Services ( I signed them in) and told us all quite openly that different regions have no access to other regions files.

Is the SMK B2 custom any better than the standard B2 ?
bruno22rf replied to BADGER.BRAD's topic in Airgunners
Actually the B2 custom refers to the use of a dead Dogs pizzle brush to improve the smoothness of the stock - the standard version is simply dipped. -
Oil degrades so why not shove a pump down the dipstick hole and suck the old oil out - change the filter and refill with new oil - should cost less than £25 all in - jobs a goodun.

When I was a Caretaker, about 5 years ago, our Headmaster called a meeting and informed us that part of the school's new policy was that any member of staff that had contact with any pupil out of school hours should enter the details into a school log (despite us all being CRB checked) - I stood up and point blank refused (the Teachers, like Sheep, all agreed to this new policy) and explained, in front of the entire staff, that I was not going to let, say the Headmaster, know if I regularly met a child who appeared to be alone, on a regular basis, incase the Headteacher was a Child Molester - he was no more safety checked than we were. You should have seen his face - but he was stumped and the new policy was cancelled. Biggest shock for me was that Social Services from one region have no access to other regions files - a Paedo can simply move from one region to another and remain pretty much anonymous.

Love Hoggs clothing - bought a used Tweed Jacket off this very forum a couple of years back then, sitting under tree's in freezing conditions, fell asleep in it.

Cheap ebay rangefinders, are they any good for airgunning ?
bruno22rf replied to BADGER.BRAD's topic in Airgunners
TBH (and no doubt many will come along who disagree) with the limited range of an Airgun you would be better off practising range finding with your naked eye. If you normally shoot at 20 yards then it's fairly straightforward to double the range using guesstimation - set your primary zero at 20 then learn the drop over twice the distance - should become second nature and when you come across vermin at whatever range you should be in with a pretty good chance.
