  1. I don't get it - you want something different but state " I do not shoot Black Powder" - getting a BP licence is no real pain and opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Are you bored with the modern gun and the mundane notion of just being a part of the firing cycle? Black Powder Shotguns give you far more involvement and a far greater sense of achievement when you have used your skill to load a piece that then brings down a high, jinking bird, it is also satisfying to use a gun the likes of which your great grandfather may have experienced. If you get a chance try one or at least handle a pre 1900 damascus barrelled English gun.
  2. If you don't sell it, can I take it out on a date? Best looking thing I've seen for some time.
  3. As a Chartered Surveyor you can keep vermin off his land, report broken fences, inform him of any strangers wandering around, keep an eye on his Farm Machinery and treat him as a friend and respect his every decision as to where and when you can visit - pretty much the same as all of us. Don't give up - if you are intelligent enough to be a Surveyor, you are certainly bright enough to champion your cause.
  4. When I worked at a Salvage Yard we never even bothered to look for the supplied socket - 2 lb lump hammer and a hardened socket was all we ever used.

Get a Greenhouse - scour the local free papers and you can sometimes get them for nothing, never thought I would enjoy it but there's something really relaxing about growing food that you could buy for far less from a Super Market. Chillies, Coriander, Garlic all taste far nicer though from your own Greenhouse.
  6. Met a Pro Dog walker today and she swears by Brewers Yeast Tablets - not sure if she is a bit odd but, by god, she was stunning so I could have listened to her talking all day!!
  7. Madras Hot Chicken Tikka Masala is the dish my local (ish) Indian make for me - never tasted anything like it, it's simply sublime. Onion Bhajis the size of a Tennis Ball done crispy and I'm in heaven - if you are ever in Stony Stratford try the Kardamom Lounge in the high street.
  8. My brother in law tried a Phall at a restaurant in Bicester a few years back - now neither of us were girly where it comes to heat and we both worked part time at another restaurant where we had a bet with the head chef that he could not cook anything so hot that we couldn't eat it (he never did) but this Phall was deadly and we seriously considered calling an Ambulance at the time - he was sweating profusely, shaking and the veins on his head were so pronounced that they looked like he had wiring under his skin.
  9. I'm really struggling to see the fascination with these replicas - OK they look like the real thing but the end result is almost an insult to it's pedigree. Watched a young lad down our local club a few weeks back - impressive armoury of 9mm parabellum, S&W 357 pistols and a very realistic looking kalashnikov rifles but when he stepped up and shot them it was laughable - pop popo pop - he looked a right ****. Think I would rather have a deac genuine gun than Soda Stream Special.
  10. Been through loads of food with my springers and Arkela was best for coat and overall condition but loose stools forced me to shop around - have found Tesco stock one called Naturo that they seem to love and the ingredients seem fine.
  11. I used to use the Aldi flour a few years back Centrepin, but it seemed to be reluctant to rise but bought 2 bags last w/end and the bread is as good as the normal premium stuff.
  12. Just a quick tip - Aldi strong white flour is 55p for 1.5 kg - must be about the cheapest and works a treat.

    Little rant.

Make sure you give the relevant review on Google.
  14. Over complicating the process - if you buy UNpasteurized Orange Juice you only need to remove the lid and leave it in a warm place for a few hours, then plug the hole with a ball of cotton wool and wait around 5 days in a warm room - works more often than not and tastes foul but its deffo Alcoholic.
  15. Oxford Gun Company - the "lad" will be David, the owners son. Think they used to be the London Gun Company? bought a few guns/items over the years but always felt robbed afterwards when comparing prices with other dealers. Shirley is a lovely lady though and it's worth visiting just to meet her.
  16. Struggling to believe that this has not sold yet.......under £300 is not a sale, it's a gift.
  17. Most likely be a specialist optical thread Mice - the OD of my thread is 23mm the ID of the cap is 22.5mm - going by the .25 thread depth I would guess that the pitch would be .5 but most likely require a specialist screw cutting tip with minimal radius.
  18. No OPP - bit it appears that I married one.
  19. Less hassle, my friend?, my breadmaker makes a loaf in under 2 hours and it's a belter - 20 mins or so to cool (laid on it's side to keep the steam from softening the top crust) and you're away. I remove the paddle before the final bake or you get a massive split in the bottom of the loaf.
  20. I use a bread maker Sam but, as with everything in life, a little manual assistance helps greatly. For my sins, and I can get a loaf to rise enough to hit the lid, I always add the yeast as the machine goes into constant knead (about 4 minutes after start up) and use a Spatula to push dough down into the mix when it sticks to the sides. I use a bread improver (1 level tablespoon per loaf works wonders) and only ever use rapid setting. I have also found that Olive Oil (not extra virgin) works best for texture rather than Butter or Margarine. What with toasting my seeds I'm beginning to think I might be a MasterBaker but then I've been called something similar for years.
  21. I make bread 2 or 3 times a week, usually seeded with Sunflower and Pumpkin seeds. If you get chance try some Wessex Mill French Bread Flour - use as per usual but it seems to stay fresh for 3 or 4 days.
  22. To convert the Aldi CTM into something ,er, warmer - just add 3-4 drops of Encona Carolina Reaper Chilli sauce (Tesco sell it) - not suggesting it's hot but my bottle is kept in the gun safe!!
  23. First step - see if you can pick your nose without poking your eye out - if you can then you have more than enough skill to fit swivels to a wooden stock. Have a look at pictures and gauge where, on the stock, most people have attached there's and use that as a guide. Piece of masking tape on both positions and mark the centre with a pen then gently tap a pointed rod onto the mark to help prevent the drill slipping - use a small drill, around 2-3mm to start and then follow with the correct size drill, marling the depth required on the bit with a piece of electrical tape or similar, second drill should be around 2.5 mm smaller than the swivel thread but ask your local smith for advice if you are uncertain. Once you have the thread all the way home you can alter it's lock position by putting washers behind the thread against the stock. TBH both my S410's had swivels fitted but I never fitted a sling to either of them.A drip of wax or Linseed oil on the thread will help it to cut into the wood.
  24. Had one many years ago and still regret ever selling it.
