  1. Indesit Chest Freezer. Works well but the outside is a bit scruffy having been sited in the garage for the last ten years. Clean and tidy inside. Not sure of exact dimensions but it pretty large. Looking for £20 based just outside Darlington in the North East. Thanks
  2. I have done the same, then laminated them and keep a wipe clean felt pen with them. We can then draw on them to show the guns and beaters where they should be.
  3. I'm hoping it will be ok and I can get up and check before the scaffolders come back to dismantle the scaffold. If some has washed out, I guess I can just dob a bit more cement in and point it up again ? Believe me, I wouldn't have been up there with out a scaffold, how these guys can do it just from ladders i'll never know !
  4. Hi all, After a bit of advice Due to having a set of solar panels fitted on Saturday I have had a scaffold up over the weekend. I thought i'd have a bit of a nosey at the roof. I noticed a bit of pointing missing on the ridge tiles and thought i'd have a poke about. Fast forward two hrs and I have the lot pulled off as they were all loose. I have started resetting them on new mortar (3:1 mix sand and cement) however just as I was nearly finished we started having a few showers. The cement has got wet, but not washed out yet. Is the job knackered now or will it still be ok even though it got wet ?
  5. The only thing I was told was not to fit a shower pump on a combi system
  6. So when Is the hire digger arriving then ??
  7. But what if , like me , you have no idea if you have been mis sold or not. I struggle to remember who I've had credit cards or bank accounts with. I've had loads as I swap every couple of years to keep the interest rates down. I've also had a couple of loans and car finance over the last 25 years. Not a chance I can remember who they all are. The way I understood it was these companies would do all the leg work at finding out who you've had agreements with in the past then fight for your compensation ?
  8. Had a morning out at Thimbleby last Sunday, and all I can say is What A Difference. Was met by the lovely lady behind the counter with a smile and a bit of cheery banter. Had a quick butty, which was lovely, and then headed out. All the stands looked new and we had no issues with the card system, not too many No Birds and the layout was excellent. Couple of confidence builders followed by some absolute stinkers ! All in all we had a cracking morning and with the closure of JC Marsh, I can only see this ground going from strength to strength. If you haven't been for a while, I can recommend a trip Cheers
  9. The big guns you heard are from a range further down the coast where they test fire out into the Irish sea. Cant remember the name of the place. My parents live in eskdale so know that area well. Lovely place to spend some time
  10. Quick question, but how did you cut the squares out of the facing wood so neatly to make the drawer fronts ? Cheers
  11. How do you know your car isn't damaged ? The shunt could have bent your tow bar. The fact that your caravan isn't insured doesn't matter, it doesn't have to be. Get onto your insurer they will be able to deal with all of this. Do you have legal cover on your policy, may come in handy if you start to struggle
  12. Get onto your insurer, that's why you pay them. If you get no joy contact the Insurance Ombudsman and lodge a complaint Hope you get sorted
  13. Credit cards can be brilliant. I took one out with 3 years 0% on purchases. I paid for a new kitchen to be fitted. It saved me loads as I paid it off with a monthly standing order and chopped the card up. The money was totally free to borrow compared to the 20% rate my bank wanted for a loan of under 5k. However if you don't havd the discipline to do it like that they can be a nightmare
  14. Absolutely agree, I will only take my kids out on days where I know who is going to be there, but still like them to be very visible regardless. However I disagree with you that we shouldn't take kids out. Mine are 7 & 9 and have both been coming with me for a year or so now. They stick close to me and they know that they do exactly what they are told or else. I will only take them on the days where we are shooting one of the more open farms and there are no blind spots or really heavy cover. They absolutely love it, and I think that by getting them involved in the shoot days and the day to day running of a shoot will better understand our sport and the countryside than any or their peers. Not to be too cheesy but they are the future of the sport, shooting is a lifestyle and I like to involve my whole family. (Plus i'm tight and it save me having to take them to the cinema on a Weekend.)
  15. I have a ruger 10/22 deluxe. Fitted with a moderator, 2 10 shot Mags, Bi pod, Sling, hawke scope (Fairly cheap but adequate for what I do) and a cree torch attachment. I re did the woodwork on it and its come up really nice. I just don't use it so wont be bothering renewing my FAC when it lapses. Based in Darlington so not too far from you. If you want pics or anything let me know your email address and i'll send some over. Cheers Alex Sorry, just read you're looking for a project. Doh !!!
  16. I agree with you to an extent, however you are assuming that everyone has exactly the same level of awareness and are as disciplined as you. I wouldn't make that assumption and for the sake of a bit of orange cloth, i'll make sure I am visible. I'm not advocating all wandering around looking like road workers in full hi viz but an orange hat is hardly going to bring and end to the traditional English shoot day.
  17. Are you telling me, hand on heart, that you have never been rough shooting and all of a sudden through the mist or sideways rain you have spotted a beater and thought 'By eck, they are closer than I thought ' You have heard every whistle for the No more Forward shots on every drive of every shoot you have ever been on ? You have never been on a shoot where one of the old boys maybe doesn't have the best eye sight ? I know I have, and for that reason if my kids are out with me I will make sure they are 100% as visible as possible. As for me, I don't do the full hi viz bit, but a flash of orange on my hat just lets the guns know where I am. Cant see a problem with that, just common sense to me ?
  18. I recently bought my son a Sealand Keeper suit which comes with an orange bib in an inside pocket. He wears it every time we go beating. I also bought a hat which turns inside out to show an orange side, I wear it orange side out in the beating line. I started taking my daughter out last year and she sports a pink Hi Viz. I see what you are all saying about safe shots but I just see it as an extra precaution. I like the idea of being very visible, I adopt the same principle while i'm out on my bike.
  19. I've just got back from 2 weeks in the Vendee which is about half way down on the western coast, towed our twin axle caravan down there. Driving in France is a doddle, much easier than at home. You can either use the very fast and empty toll roads or the local a roads. Both are in much better nick than roads over here. I would recommend the Portsmouth to St Malo ferry, more expensive but cuts out a lot of driving and its an over night ferry so you can get a cabin and get your head down. If you want to down to somewhere like Biaritz in one go, its doable but its a long drive, think 10 hrs plus on the French side alone if you go to Calais. I would suggest a stop at least for one night. Campsites are plentiful but beware that they do get busy in the school holidays, outside of that you can just rock up and you'll get a pitch As far as navigation goes, nothing to worry about if you have a sat nav with European maps it will get you exactly where you want. If not most main roads just go from one big town or city to the next so as long as you plot a route you will have no bother. I love France and have gone for the last 5 years. Its a fantastic place for a driving holiday. Enjoy
  20. Have you tried a Springer Rescue Organisation ? There are people who buy the cute little pups little knowing the amount of exercise and looking after they need. They often end up needing to be rehomed at a relatively early age. Worth a shot ?
  21. Cheers Fellas, sounds like it operating as it should then. I'll take it out and get a few carts through it and see what happens. Thanks
  22. Evening All, I have a Lincoln 12 g O/U which I use as a second gun for friends to use if I take them clay shooting. Its not worth a lot but it does come in handy now and again. I lent it to a mate who's gun had bust the other night and it was not shooting the second barrel every time. Seemed better when switched to shoot bottom barrel first but still not perfect. Anyhow, I have since taken it apart and given it a clean, I didn't seem that bad but was a little dirty. I cleaned it all out and gave it a light oiling and put it back together. Now when the gun is cocked the first barrel will dry fire and an immediate second pull on the trigger will fire the second barrel. Now my Miroku wont do the second barrel unless I either switch barrels manually or give the butt pad a bash. Question is should the Lincoln not need the recoil to set the trigger for the second barrel or is the mechanism different ? Is it still safe to shoot ?? Cheers

Sorry Ethnic minority, nothing you can do or you'll be a racist !!
  24. Regarding Durham, I posted a question on here a while ago about the requirement for a doctors report. In the end I folded like a wet rag and went and had the report done at a cost to me of £30. All the bits were sent off six months prior to the date of my current certificate expiring and I am approx 3 weeks away from expiry date now. Even after jumping through their damned hoops it still looks like I may end up with a load of hassle. I am a little bit upset about it
