    NTTF

I could use some help with running targets my first running fox at 90 meters was a proud moment! Im useless with moving targets and shotguns.. But then again I never get any practice. This is what forums are here for, I only wish all the content was full of helpful things instead of slagging matches.
  2. Theres something about birds of prey.. Like looking at a Spitfire between modern jets.. Looks like they had an interesting day!
  3. Agreed! Have a great day chaps!!
  4. Not good at all! could be risk of injury/life with this, whoever is spreading that nonsense needs to get their facts right before someone gets hurt. Never compromise with firearms.
  5. Look around see if you can buy one cheap I got my first (fully working) manual motorbike for free.

    ouch....

During the recovery time of a few days, (to allow for swelling to clear and any fluids in the joint) you should avoid any use of that arm at all. Movement should only be done as prescribed by an osteopath or sports clinic. It may sounds stupid, but im dead serious that if you do not take it really easy on that arm, you will have problems for months, even years to come as I did. Avoid hot baths, the shoulder needs to be kept cool (ice packs are good!) and elevated.the hot baths will not reduce the painful swelling and fluid pressure on the nerves in the joint. Only a shame you didnt do it at work, or you would get compensation and recovery time. REST REST REST no matter how macho you are with half your body made of titanium and stainless steel Luckily my only broken bone was a fractured wrist boy you know when you have broken a bone!) my wrist was twisted to one side from the fracture, so two nurses held me while a doctor pulled the wrist straight and casted it. Not nice at all.. I love bikes but I dont think I will ever ride on the roads again, I used up my chances.. Its not down to how good a rider you are (although it helps to have experiance!) its down to certain car drivers.. ''sorry didnt see you mate''... Hope you are sorted soon.
  7. Now now, you may offend the worm spotters on here.

RICE Rest Ice Compress Elevate. Very important for sports injuries

    ouch....

Expect a 7+ week recovery time before you can use your shoulder again, and another 12+ months before it feels normal. I did the same thing in a motorbike crash, and im not joking it has taken 3 years to recover 95%. In that time I had two more dislocations because the shoulder was so week at the joint after the injury. Be very careful lifting items, or climbing structures, its not funny when you get a second dislocation and then you re back at square one of the recovery time. Hope you mend fast, consider taking supplements and getting exercises as directed by an osteopath or similar. The early recovery stages are very important! dont lift anything or do any sports with your arm. I talk through experiance. I also dislocated the other shoulder in a climbing accident (human error) but that was less serious then the motorcycle crash. The arm acts as a lever on the joint, so it does not take much force to damage it when you are not ready for the fall, or hit the ground at a weird angle.

    townies

Yes we have an intolerence of townies. But thats refering to 'chavs'. The smoking, drinking, swearing, aggressive, stealing, work shy, soap dodging chavs that roam the towns and streets (sometimes the country too!). I have 100% zero tolerance for them. Just because they usually look like this, does not mean we have zero tolerence for usual towns folk. Now stop worrying about how you look and what we feel about it. Because to be honest, its not a big deal, lifes too short. You sound like a reasonable chap and that all I care about..
  12. No issues at all for me, all good this end Hope it gets sorted.
  13. Id like to see you lot try. Doing such a deed would turn most of us into quivering wreaks, its just not something that any of us should even think about. Infact im suprised to see topics like this show up here.. In a combat situation its when you have the adrenaline flowing, and you have to do something to protect your life or the others around you.. but pulling the plug on an un-armed human being is something completley different. Something you cant comment on untill you have been there and had to do it..so no matter how macho you think you are, im sure most people here dont have such a cold heart to do it. Best stick to hunting If you think killing someone for a crime they committed such as murder, is doing the right thing.. you have it wrong, because you will be guilty of the same crime, under different circumstances. (prehaps less brutal). Euthanasia is another can of worms..
  14. Forgot to mention that, GPS signals are 'line of sight' only, and do not travel through woodland, tunnels, brick walls etc. (through vehicle glass is fine as long as it is not UV sheilded glass).
  15. Sharpi or just Phil because its short anyway. Sharpi is short for sharpshooter dont ask, its a long story.. I had other nicks as a kid but none lasted long..
  16. Have you configoured it to UK settings? WAAS does not work with all units over here and you may have to adjust it to a different format. I have a few GPS toys but none are combined with mobiles so I cant help all that much. As my brother used to say.. RTFM (read the ******* manual) hope you get it sorted, sounds like a good bit of kit! At the moment my Nokia phone without camera, internet, and all that other rubbish runs straight day and night for 3 weeks without charging, and is dead reliable. For mobile GPS I always use a Garmin GPSmap 60CSX.

    the arms

No can do.. my mates are taking me (well im driving them) to the movie 'Wanted' tonight. Even though im about to collapse after todays intense 4 hour exams been up since 5am..
  18. I have been on there for over a year..
  19. Blimming heck I have been going to that station weekly with my college course, train uesed to arrive 8.30(ish) at that very station.. nothing suprising or interesting ever happened there. (good thing I geuss). Hope he pulls through.. and learns from it.
  20. If you think thats a midlife crisis... just you wait for the real thing. Dont worry you are not the only one who is having a rough time. I pretty much have no job at the moment. I cant afford a car, I cant shoot much because of not owning a car.. or afford any nice new kit. But thats just living rough for a while, it happens to everyone. A midlife crisis is a whole lot worse and tends to involve depression/break ups etc Only you can decide what step you take next.. and only you can decide how hard you will try this time around. You probably did the right thing to leave your job, you only get one life, and you will spend 60% of it working.. so make sure you are happy in that time!!
  21. Stunning. I havent seen such a pretty rifle in quite a few months. Certainly worth trading in the shottie for that. If you can get hold of it, try some American Eagle .223.. Frank used to swear by it for Deer/goats etc. I never had any luck with the Norma stuff, im now on Hornady in my .222.. its got an expensive taste. All the best with it!
  22. I have shot fox cubs at night that looked massive. Poor light conditions can affect your perceptions. When you get to the cub and its only a nipper, it can be confusing when you are certain you had a full sized beast.
