  1. I was struggling to find wellies to fit my muscular calfs and didn't(couldn't) justify spending 100's on the local RFD's offerings On the off chance I called in at a local fishing tackle wharehouse and found a pair of 3/4 length Neoprene Boots by a company called Wychwood, (whychwoodtackle.co.uk) walked for 3+ hours this AM around my new permission in heavily waterlogged fields and they were, to quote others, "as comfortable as slippers" Oh, and they cost princely sum of £37.00 :D
  2. Well, unaccustomed to exercise as I am, I've been out for a walk this morning around somewhere where I've recently got permission to shoot (just gotta get me a licence, a gun, cartridges now) I dunno how far I walked in 3hrs+ but the farmer tells me his land is roughly 430-450 acres (how can you not know  ) Plenty of evidence of rabbit burrows and what I call scratchings, (where they been starting to dig holes) many of the fields are wheat which farmer reckons wont be much good to me, but there's about 20 - 30 acres of beans and peas going in Mid March/April And I think I might have found a fox hearth or earth (whatta ya call it?) but Im not allowed, and wont have anything (rifle wise) on my ticket big enough. Anyways, all that country air has tired me out, the heatings on and sofa's reclined, Night night dreaming of Quads now
  3. Wouldn't the eye look messed up if he shot it in the eye as he says in previous post ?

    spuds

From my experience last year with 3 allotments on the go.........hardly worth the bother You can buy sacks (theyre kinda woven nylon type stuff,) plant your seed pots on a layer of soil cover to a few inches, as they shoot, cover with more earth/compost and so on and so on, One thing that seems REALLY important is Water and regular to keep damp not drying out then watering then drying out. the other method as mentioned, is to stack car tyes and fill in with soil/compost but this may not be so aesthetically pleasing From an area roughly 10' x 10' we harvested a mixed sack of earlies, mids and main crop. I can buy a sack of spuds from the local farm shop between £5 - £7.50 round here, So by the time you've dug trenches and earthed up and done all the water carrying it does make you wonder why you bother, Then you look at them on the plate, "I grew those, I did
  5. I would have thought RFD to RFD would make it uneconomic to buy ??
  6. My mother recently had her central heating boiler serviced and system power flushed. It took the guy best part of a day, He'd added Furnox a week previously, then on the day came back and had some kind of SDS drill with a big rubber or nylon block attachment which he went round all the pipework and radiators and vibrated the rads and pipework systematically whilst power flushing. The colour of the water that comes out was awful, and the sediment was collected having been filtered out from the water that went down the drain, I have to admit having been a bit sceptical I was amazed to see the dirty brown/black/rust coloured sludge which had coarse granular feel to it. One week later she had her central heating pump jam up, which was cured by a quick whack with a hammer (technical fix)
  7. Repaint the bottom one, It's a bloomin woodpecker innit
  8. Years ago I met a family friend who used to keep chickens, goats, lambs etc etc. one day we went out to dehorn someones kid (baby goat not child ) Anyways, when we got to the house, on the front door mat was the back half of a rabbit, it was complete from halfway down the saddle and had both back legs complete with ****/tail. When the guy answered the door we commented on the half rabbit on the mat to be told "Ohh yeah thats the cat, he always eats the front half only, always has done.
  9. Sorry, I dont want to buy it, but can I ask, where or how did you get the camo' finish done ? Thanks

    Some people

Just goes to show, You should have to apply for a licence to reproduce.
  11. I agree in the most part, especially with regard the suffering aspect, I was merely considering different options, I have in the region of 430 - 450 acres to cover pretty much on my own, so might have considered snares and setting some, doing my rounds and coming back to them.
  12. Post deleted ******* uploader wont upload pics, (Too Big ? Off my Phone ????)
  13. Reason I asked, I'm looking at an Air Arms summat or other, .25cal supposedly putting out at 31ft/lbs its £450 with a couple of buddy bottles and a load of various pellets and some spare O rings for the bottles My only reservation (personal preference?) is the length of the barrel/moderator (it's long) Would this make for a good rabbit weapon ?
  14. Thanks, Ive had a look at BASC and entered 'rabbit snares' in the search box but didn't get any matches Like you say, I'm sure it's there somewhere.
  15. Lovely looking boy, reminds me of my two and nice to see he's still got his tail
  16. Pardon my complete ignorance, Are rabbit snares legal or illegal these days ?
  17. As a Transporter owner I'd just like to say "Good Luck with the warranty claims on that one Folks" oh, and the fuel consumption. :look:
  18. I own and operate a Black Cab and an 8 Seat Minibus business.

    Golf GTI

Just the one bottle ? Thats not going to go far between all of us is it
  20. I'll second that :good: (Not like the funny bloke just round the corner from Eastern Sporting )
  21. There was a 12g Hushpower listed in the for sale section not so long back, around £200 or £250 if I remember. If I wasn't still waiting on my SGC I'd have bought it. 410 Carts are considrably dearer per bang than 12g so running costs are higher.
  22. Ahhh, 78's you mean ? Many of us aren't old enough to remember
