Referring to the post i put, The cat had internal damage that would have been less that a 25% of survival its liver was ruptured, its pelvis was broken as well as its back leg and skin grafts would have been needed, they said they were unsure of any other internal damage until they did further investigation. The first question was as you would expect "are you insured ?" What i fail to understand is they have already found out about the injury's, internal being the life threatening ones yet they still asked if they could try and save the cat. Why it would not be able to live its life as a cat does due to the damage. So why not do the only think sensible and put it to sleep and end its suffering. Oh! of course they would only pick up about £50 and not nearly £400 how sill of me. And i fully understand not all stories will be the same, my wife has or did have 2 horses 1 of which damaged its Check ligament which had brilliant treatment from an exceptionally good vet who is internationally known for his knowledge and results in equine veterinary so no its not a vet knocking post. They do a fantastic job and i am also fully aware of the study that's needed to become a fully qualified vet.

You need to be careful, I went through some flood water a while ago and I started to get moved sideways, that was in an invincible. It had nothing to do with it not being able or not being a Landy the sheer mas and force is immense. I remember actually saying out loud "$#! €" Would I do it again ;-)

I'm no super dooper shooter, but as far as my thinking goes think of the choke in you're shotgun like a jet attachment on a hosepipe. Full full and you get a jet of water reaching far out now change to a spray a see how far in comparison the water is dispersed. Your shot bwill still travel the same distance but like the water from the hosepipe the shot will be either scattered all around the target or all or mostly on the target. You either soak or skim.

I gave that tip from because of a previous issue whilst in a high seat after Fallow, 8 30.06 rounds piled up under the high seat, all click but no bang, and no Fallow were harmed that morning, it turned out to be probably a combination of **** and a high viscosity oil stopping of dampening the firing pin strike, a flush out with lighter fluid did the trick.

Turned volume down after getting an ear full of American woman squeal. But it's a bit weird and would be quite frightening.

From experience I have found the certainly do play the emotional game, we had a cat, (whatever you think about cats put that aside) It was a big white one, it got ran over resulting in broken pelvis, lower back leg possible ruptured liver plus skin missing from about25% of its broken leg It was chipped so we had a call, I went with my Mrs which we both found upsetting to see the state of the cat, for me it was the fact that I could not understand why it was still alive, worse to have been kept alive for there gain. We were asked if we would agree to have the cat operated on to repair the broken leg and grafts to the skin. Possible cost was ridiculous, and that was not including the life threatening internal damage, so we get charged for the bodge job on a leg pay a silly bill and the cat dies. As we walked out of the vets I told them to end it, I told them if I had seen an animal suffering like that I would have shot it. We still got billed for nearly £400 for over night stay and treatment.

Strip the bolt clean it with solvents / petrol will suffice. Reassemble spray with a light oil / rust inhibitor and see what happens.

Well if that's the case "Clive" needs to get his house in order and get rid of the agency and get himself a mobile. He's just lost £175.00 That makes it a little expensive for just a return call.

Has anyone had dealings with this company ? If so, good or bad? I placed an order last Friday 3rd expecting delivery by Monday at the latest, advertising next day delivery!!, called on Thursday 9th Clive was to return call that day. Friday today 10 still no reply. Cancelled order asked for refund, when that arrives who knows. Businesses like this don't deserve to have my hard earned cash. Not even returning a call for a few seconds I find disgusting

What makes it so difficult for the so called clever people who grant permission for building on flood plane's. Where on earth do they expect the waters to go.

Forgive me Dekers but reading your post and trying to see how worried you would be with regards to the water level, showing a boat floating on the water wouldn't worry me. On the other hand if your boat was parked outside Tescos then ide be concerned.

There all a load of public school plonkers with little or no idea how life goes on outside there perfect little bubbles. Conservative, Labour, Libs all of them. I really don't know what some folk expect from a government.

Submerging trigger assembly in hot, soapy water

Can't see any harm. Rinsed off with boiling water that would evaporate nearly all the water away due to the heat, then just blast it with electro cleaner or wd. But why do it -
Can I instruct cadets to shoot legally?

If i were in your boots i would certianly check with a professional organisation like BASC before i started anything like that, it could end up not good if anything went A over T -
Cons, 1 limited pellets 2 need "some" power to see the real benifit to chucking a heavy pellet down range. 3 rainbow trajectory 4 PCP would definately be the only way to go to have any benefit, and therefore very limited choice of rifles in FAC compared to a 22 Pros;- 1 Hit hard.

Colour blindness - any ideas how to cope in the field?

I too have the same disability Its hard to explain to those who have a full load of receptors (retinal cones and rods) and can see the whole spectrum. You can blame your parents for it, you got it from either one or both of them, its the x chromosome that mutated. Google it for a more in-depth description as i've forgot most from O level biology years ago. It can actually get worse as you get older as well, it certainly wont improve I get all of them mixed up, blues & purples, brown, red and greens, pale yellow and green. When i was a trendy teenager i bought a nice pair of light brown oxford bags, huge pockets mega broad waist band, i was well chuffed too as they were in the sale My sister (who i used to fight with all the time) asked me to try them on and show her, a quick change and into the living room to show her and my dad, well they both laughed there socks off they ended up being pea green I cant see rabbits to well either, and fox's dont stick out in the day time either in a hedge bottom, mind you if they move they've had there chips. And to answer all the same old questions,-- yes the grass is green, and we dont get confused at the traffic lights either. At one time, not sure if they still do, during the wawer men who were deficient in certain colours would be snapped up by the army as it was not possible to hide things using camouflage due to the receptors seeing through the attempts to hide vehicles etc. Many people also have the ability to be able to see more or distinguish more colours than people without colour deficiancy. So when i told people in Croatia on a Boar shoot that put on an orange hi-vis i couldnt see them, i really couldnt -
No body will ever find mine, There in an old treasure chest deep at the bottom of my fish tank next to a nice bit of bog-wood, you cant see it from outside as its to the left of my front door behind an outside wall. The only people that know i have a fish tank are the people who come round and read the meter's,and possibly the post man and on the odd occasion if the Mrs has anything from the Next catalog then maybe she may come in. Oh! i forgot the decorator the other day. But nobody knows there in there

Chin up, nothing you could have done to stop it. I was hoping to get down there stalking but that will have to wait, nothing to worry about though in comparison.

Don't take this the wrong way chaps but a pair of boots suitable for lowland walking are suitable for exactly that. The chap has been through the painful experience of ill fitting boots, or boots not designed for the job. Having had your toe nails removed I would have thought you could spend a little bit more on a pair of boots that will keep your feet in good order and also last more than 12 months. I would avoid Hi tec, imo just not up to it ok for lowlands through fields. Raise you're budget to around 150, have a look at " brasher hillmaster, s" there around 120 so a tad over you're budget. Cold wet and damaged feet from blisters or rubbing the skin away would be my worst nightmare specially at the top of Ben-nevis. Try a few pairs, (in the afternoon after your feet have swollen a little) walk up and down stairs in the shop if possible with proper socks. Look at it like you're buying a shotgun, fit is just as important or you may as well not bother. And buy quality. ;-)
