  1. Stevie, I can understand your anger, It may have been me, as i was shooting on a new bit and dropped some cases, well they were ejected as i shot several rabbits. Oh i forgot to ask were is it that you found the cases, maybe i wasnt the guilty one, Assumptions are the mother of what
  2. Hunting actually has a benifit to the Fox in general which nobody notices much at all or evens thinks about. Its a major reason that at some time ago our fox population in this country or most other countries that hunt with hounds had a population of good strong fit Fox's. There was little inbreeding which as most should know will throw out genetic problems due to inter breeding of Fox's,over or under shot jaws, joint problems, behaviour problems the list could go on, but due to hunts dispersing the Fox it was forcing them to breed further a field, plus it was mostly the unfit animals that were actually the only ones that met there death. Many a time hunts are out and actually returned without a kill, for pest control it is not the most efficient way at all,in fact it has to be one of the most labour intensive ways of killing anything. But as has been said there is more to it than going out just for the kill. Heres a thought for a few of you There would be a few on here that may not have been given the oppertunity to aquire a FAC had the hunt ban not have gone the way it did.
  3. While i am having my din dins on nights i was thinking  It seems that there is allot of advice coming from people who seem to be on here 24/7, Now OK i understand that some folk are getting a bit long in the tooth,me included and have a fair bit of "experience" (not me) and some have obviously done it all. But how many of us actually get out and use there equipment so to speak Me with my 4 nights at work manage about 2 a week if not 3 when i am lucky :yp:
  4. Yes good enough without having to spend extra on IR lazer's
  5. Mung, i can see them coming in handy on the pigs
  6. Thats a good tool I have carried them in a simalar way but found it difficult to drop them quietly and quickly to take a shot on a rabbit whilst on my own, so what i have done is get a length of decent size rope, fasten it around my waste and drag whole rabbits around a few feet behind me.If i need to take a shot i have nothing to hinder or get in the way. As i go around i would drop so many off around the permision on gates or fences to pick up later when i have done shooting, works for me quite well Or the easy way is chuck them in the back of the pickup No always possible though depending on permision.
  7. the problem is when the barrel vibrates during bullet travel up the barrel (harmonincs)when it touches the stock it effects the natural movement of the barrel inconsistantly, therfore altering the POI with each shot, Well something like that by removing material from the stock you remove the problem, for a quick fix without removing any stock with sand paper use some thin material (plastic 35m film canister) to raise the stock slightly at the front point and see if it makes any difference
  8. Yes and when someone does, tell him i accept his appologie for ruining our weekend
  9. Dont forget that changing the barrel length may possibly mean changing bullet make aswell. It sounds you have found a good bullet/rifle combination, by changing the length of barrel you are in effect changing the rifle Velocity will be lost but it would probably go un noticed, and it willbe noisier I have the same issues with mine, but with about 850 bullets that group well at the moment i aint changing anything
  10. I would imagine its a 500wt halogen spot a rite pain i know, but they are expensive to run though

  14. As most above, radio 1 on the rite day :yp: Called one in the other night, well sort of me, it should of been a rabbit in distress and ------- "shania Twain, Man i feel like a woman". came out instead she did the job though had to stop it at about 60yds- it was starting to get out of focus.Must have really liked the track
  15. PM reply to Hoogs sold thanks
  16. For sale Blacks Octane 1 tent, only been used twice, good condition very lightweight £50. can deliver at cost.
  17. There's a field only 100's of yards from me its been stripped by pigeons, it has had shoooters on there using subs only. Thats being considerate There's a chap who shoots it who has even bought a hushpower so he can still shoot the field without upsetting the folk who live close by. Kids camping in crop fields thats just being un-educated, i blame the parents.
  18. Then i think in that situation they would be gunning for you anyway, due to lack of consideration noise wise. I have dropped 12g cartridges on one of my permisions in fact thinking about it on 2, the landowner has given them back to me next time i was round and nothing said appart from "are these yours" Why stir up the manure, i can not see any point at all..
  19. Very expensive I have been going now for years (i missed the first 3 years its been going), camped for 4 of them. The first time i think a pitch was £35 plus your weekend entrance, the nightime entertainment was not bad at all the beer was a sensible price too. I camped last year £60 for the pitch then £26 each for entrance so £112 for the weekend before you spend any money in the show. Night time entertainment was a joke a little gazebo size tent thing for the group (**** too) 4 drinks for £17 AND the cheeky twonk checked my £20 note. You can guess i wont be camping again
  20. I think the culprit should be taken into the middle of a field and publicly stoned to death for doing such a dispicable thing. Or shall we first see if they had been left there by accident, maybe fell out of a pocket whilst taking a shot in the prone possition, We dont know any of us, some may think they know everything Assumptions are the mother of all what Pick them up, make it safe and discard them safely when you get home..

I was given some good advice from someone years ago to use mono as a shock leader about 2 rod lengths. It saves ware on the eyes and consistant casting in particular whilst feeder fishing cuts through them prety quickly. Its also cheaper to replace the mono after a couple of days fishing. Used for drifter float fishing on big loughs its unbeatable for pike, also quick responses on the feeder rods for bream
  22. I/we watched my mother in law slowly pass away after a stroke, possibly 3 infact, they put her on what they call a "Liverpool" diet i have no idea were the name came from. But it was not a good sight believe me. they informed us that the body closes down bit by bit to the eventual end. I agree with Euthanasia in these circumstances for sure. I wish you all the most heartly wishes. It is a great relief when the last day on earth for them comes, i only wish there was a better way legally, and the morphine can be administered freely. Very sad.
  23. Try some village pubs that do meals, they may be interested
  24. I have seen (IMO) far too much meat damage using fast bullets from say a 243, compared to a 30 cal using 160 grn bullets for example. Which is one of the main reasons i went for a larger cal. We all have a choice to choose whatever cal we are lucky enough to be granted permision for. Hey! just imagine if we all had just the one choice be a boring forum would'nt it. We would all have the ultimate rifle for all occasions. But we dont
