Decent hw Springer in either .177 or .22 not fussy and you know it will outshoot and out last you. Given the choice a 99s or a nice 80.

Have a striker in .22, for the money its great, not a hw or bsa but very good. They have one for 75, for that price its a steal

I get this sometimes, a chamber brush and liberal soaking of bore cleaner or wd40 whichever is to hand, give it a scrub then clean as normal. you don't need a drill or to spend any longer than 5 mins doing it.

Wouldn't worry about the odd dry fire, done it hundreds of times and it has never caused an issue ever, the only thing I wouldn't dry fire is a spring airgun or a bow without the arrow as it causes major stress. Still if the only thing u have to worry about is thr odd dry fire I guess its all good.

Got a hatsan striker, great gun,, was shooting empty shotgun shells at 40 yards the other day when the squigs wouldn't play, 150 with scope is the going rate from most places. Go to theopticians and ask for some wax. U put a small cross of it on the lense then polish off. Looks like a wax block, normally orangey pink and rubber sized. Used it for years and works fine on my glasess and bathroom mirror. Need some more now I think of it. Costs about £1.

I do love a good tinker with things but wouldbt it be easier to take it to a gun smith and let him sort it. Not as much fun I grant u but easier and less hassle.

I have had a long night on the tiles however to make it simply, your licence was taken away and they issued you. A new one, a photo of one on a little card, that one expires after 10 years regardless, they won't issue u an old one as they no longer exist, hence it sounds like your driving not in accordance, hence insurance is also invalid. You Will be lucky to not be disqualified. I cannot comment as to whether the magistrates disqualify u or not as its up to them. I'm not sure of the full facts either, just my view on it.

Read somewhere that they used straw boards as a test, it coukdnt go through x amount of them,, when put over a crono as the tech became available it was found to be 12ftlbs hence the limit. Not sure about pistols but I'd imagine they just halved it for simplicity.
