  1. I'd be a bit of a foodie and pretty serious home cook/baker and also rate the Tesco finest or go cook range. Knife skill's come with time and I can chop an onion in seconds either diced or sliced wafer thin depending what I using it for. I also have a few Sabatier's mini clever ect. I also recently got a mini chef knife by stellar "James martin range" that I'm liking at the minute.I use a red devil knife for paring veg and one tip is that I never cut tomatoes with my cooking knives and always use a serrated blade like forever sharp. The Thomas token ones are ****. If I was getting a new knife and could justify the money it would be Kin knife.
  2. Very witty and made me laugh also. Every 3 months also or thereabout's .
  3. If you think that Fella' you need to get yourself up to 'Slieve League' You will be Amazed. To the OP. I know you are intent on heading South but I would also suggest like the 'Pet Shop Boy's' said Go West...! I have worked and played and also followed Sport all over the Island and have been in every County with the exception of Cork and Waterford and I have seen very Little to compare with the West/NW of the Island. You could easily spend a whole week in My beloved County and not get bored. But the the coast of Mayo/Galway is also very nice and also the Coast road in NI is beautiful and one of my favourite drives on a nice day. If you are intent on going South then 'Bray' Count Wicklow is very pretty and of course you have 'Mizen head" Irelands most southerly point as opposed to Malin head the most Northerly point which again is in Donegal. I believe the English actor 'Jeremy Iron's' lives near Mizen Head on a secluded part of the coast. You all know about Kerry and rightly so it lives up to its good press. If climbing Mountains is your thing then 'Croagh Patrick' will give ou spectacular views. Other interesting things await if take a very short drive North from Dublin into Meath is The Boyne Valley and the the 'Newgrange prehistoric monument with a top class visitor centre. But there is one County that has it all and that is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfJk1f0FS5M
  4. So many to choose from. But one that spring's to mind is - Into the Wild 2007. I loved this film. I don't get much time to watch movies anymore and if I do its usually late at night in bed. I watched one a few months back and I cant recall the name of it but it was about a Father and Son trapped in a Cave system. just googled it and it's called 'Sanctum. Watched the new modern take on the Magnificent 7 last week and enjoyed it also. Still haven't had the time to watch T2 trainspotting as yet but I will get around to it.
  5. +1 on the Revenant. I thought it a brilliant film.
  6. Mmm..You took that well.! Seems your humour detector isn't switched on either. Not to worry as it's no skin off my nose. I have no problem helping people If I know the answer but just to save you the bother of making a call' Don't Bother" as with an attitude like yours You wont be getting anymore Info or help from me . Good luck with your "Pheasy's and Hawk's"
  7. I assumed it was an Irish water spaniel that Figgy was referring to and that 'Lagotto' was a Breeder's name but googled it anyway an was surprised to see that it is an actual Breed and not one I had heard of. Interesting looking dog and they look big boned and strong.
  8. So this is the next of it.! First we had Shottie's and now Pheasy's What next Carty;s for Cartridges or Pidgys for pigeons I appreciate you are new to shooting but are you also new to the country.? Either way if you intend to take up shooting seriously it would do no harm to take a interest in the birds of the countryside as birds of prey ect are what make up part of the enjoyment of it all. In fairness I suppose that is what you are doing by asking the question in the first place. Like the man above said and I'd be pretty sure what you have seen are Buzzard's soaring and like most birds right now are concentrated on pairing up and nesting. Buzzards main quarry are Rabbits and small mammals rats ect although lately they have been taking crow's and will also eat carrion. I'm pretty sure after your 'pheasy' was disturbed he would be Skulking in some dense cover and would be safe from the Buzzard's. Im not 100% sure a buzzard wouldn't take an Adult pheasant but are renowned for taking poults.
  9. I have to pairs of brogues' one casual and one a dress shoe and both are Ted Baker 'London' and I have a black pair of dress shoes from Base 'London'. I think there pretty stylish shoes and within your budget.
  10. Don't agree with that decision at all.
  11. Don't think it can get much better than that. Going be an interesting last couple of rounds here. The G man has his work cut it here.Jacob's boxing very well.
  12. Wow, what a super flyweight fight that was and Roman Gonzalez beat for the first time in his career. A night of upsets.? Nah not were Golovkin is concerned.
  13. Well Danger-Mouse, Did you watch McGregor walk Michael Conlan into the ring last night .? If not' you can check it out on Ireland MMA on Youtube. The build up and entrance was something else and the place was bouncing. The fight didn't quite live up to the build up with Conlan stopping a very poor opponent in the 3rd and not really shining. Will be watching Golovkin Vs Jacob's this morning in a few hours time and I expect the usual Golovkin stoppage. Jacob's is being touted as a big Puncher and finisher but I personally don't think he has the power to trouble Triple G.! Hopefully Jacob's can go and few rounds and test Golovkin and at least he is a full blown MW who can box a bit but as I say I think GGG will wear him down and expect a stoppage. Who knows' It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong !
  14. I'm lead to believe that it is 179 years to be precise.
  15. Right it's near time this bunch of over hyped Irish team done something to save face and What better than to be England's party-poopers. Come on Ireland. Will not see it as going out with the Kids'.
  16. Yep' I would have to agree that it would be a farce of a fight. I would be in agreement with those who say that they are both 'In on it' and are both looking to Cash in. Like McGregor even brings up his name in Press Conference's that have nothing to do with Mayweather and all to well knowing it gets all the Fan boy's and American 'Plastic Paddy's' in a frenzy. Like what would this prove.? It can only be an Exhibition fight between an MMA fighter vs one of the best Boxer's of the modern era which will be fought using the ' Marcus of Queensbury Rules' which would result in McGregor getting humiliated. Would he care.? I don't think he would as long as he got the big fat paycheck. McGregor is Smart and knows he could probably retire if this fight did happen to take place and he would still have many other options outside of Fighting. I am not a Mayweather fan as although he Fought the best fighters he picked where and when he did and kept his unblemished record 'Similar to Joe Calzaghe in a sense' and deprived the Boxing world of one of the most anticipated fights ever until he knew he could win it. To summarize - AS a Boxing Fan and UFC Fan, I personally would have no interest in this fight. Im not interested in seeing Mayweather Cherry picking a fight to beat a record and would rather Conor McGregor stick to MMA and fight the best Guy's in current division ie Ferguson,Khabib, Dos Anjos ect..!
  17. I hope the weather faired better in Aberdeen than it did here. It must be the first 'Paddy's day' that I rarely ventured out other than to sort the Dog's. I got the log burner fired up earlier than usual this morning 'although its usually cleaned and set before 10am everyday'. Having two young Kid's it just was not worth going to any of the parades today as it was lashing down all day. We will take them to the Cinema and bowling alley/indoor amusements tomorrow as its giving the same kind of day.Instead I made a big pot of Hearty Irish stew for lunch and then settled down to watch the main parade on the TV and some sport including your Fellow County men from the other side of the 'Glenshane'. I am at present watching the Irish woman take on England in the Woman's 6 nations decider. Later I'l be cracking open a can or two of the 'black stuff' to watch McGregor walk Michael Conlan out in Madison Square Garden for his first pro fight. Happy St Patrick's day to all who chose to Celebrate our National Day whither Irish or not. PS. Just a short bit of history on the Man himself. He was born in Roman-Britain to Roman parents and did not find Christianity until he came to Ireland' But sure that is hardly surprising that he found God here giving the fact he was already in God's own Country.
  18. Have to admit my eye's were filling up reading that Marshman. I feel your pain and have been there also. Sorry for your loss. He was a fine looking Animal.
  19. To be honest I havent read the 'Ernie James' Book as yet, but have two very Special "To ME" copies of the other titles and as you say Great reads. Having read 70+ books on Wildfowling I would have both in my Top Ten and John Humphery's book is in my Top 3.
  20. Clearly a Labour of Love. What shooting man wouldn't want to spend a day browsing through that lot. Thanks for Sharing.
  21. Them was a bargain and quickly snapped up.
  22. I'll echo that. Just in the door from the hospital visiting My father and watched the 2nd half in the ward. We need the Scots to pull an upset now.
  23. So it's Wales in Cardiff in a few hours time under a closed roof. I really hope Ireland can win this one although it will be no easy task' so as to set up a Championship decider in The Aviva against England' that is providing of course Scotland don't throw a spanner in the works.
