  1. Best tip I had was to gut it immediately after shooting … removes all risk of a ‘bad experience’.
  2. If we follow this line then … That Army & Navy isn’t an Army & Navy That Powell isn’t a Powell etc, etc Ever since guns have been sold, they’ve had different names out on them by those selling them, and we don’t get hormonal about those. We know what it is, and what it isn’t, so can we move on?
  3. And a proper soot making combination they make!!
  4. Treated myself to a new ‘pellet grill’ after Xmas, and decided to start with some smoked goose breast. Marinated overnight in apple juice, bay, garlic etc the cooked the next day low temp for around 5 hours… Result was moist, tender and full of flavour..
  5. Just need a few 6’s 8’s and 10’s for a trip later in the year. I’ve got the flies, just need a few hooks. PM me if you’ve some you’re willing to part with.
  6. My old man has done a couple .. in his shed with the hot oil technique. Several years later they’re still in the same shape 👍
  7. Wonder Wheels Alloy wheel cleaner … dissolves any carp on contact 👍
  8. What’s obvious is that they picked the lowest figure they could to make the re-wilding look as good as possible.
  9. I think that worked out at something like £64 a day for the guns …. BS!
  10. Some would argue his stay of execution did well to stretch that far. I doubt he’ll come to any financial hardship.
  11. Is she on / considering HRT. Did wonders in our house 😉
  12. Inspired by Stanley Tucci, I did a Venetian duck ragu with pappardelle this evening. Very good!!
  13. Others will have better qualifications to advise than me. My post is purely to compliment you on raising the issue and reaching out for help. Hopefully you get some good advice and can lessen your immediate concerns.
  14. No … I’d download a few episodes of ‘Eat Well for Less’ and teach yourself some basic home economics.
  15. That’s very unfortunate for you … happy that things are different here, with a substantial difference in the local favour.
  16. The Optimist: A case for the fly fishing life by David Coggins is an excellent read if you’re in any way into that type of thing.
  17. Not having the same vintage as several on here, but today I had my first fowling trip of the year. That says something itself. Even more so when I was more interested in taking a picture of a stunning sunrise than the odd teal whizzing past. Having said that I’ll be out again in the morning, and have a nice field of maize stubble eyed up for an afternoon on the woodies … so a long way from giving up yet.
  18. Personally I’d not take my clay gun fowling. You should get a functional semi for the money you’re looking at, failing that treat yourself to the Versamax on the guns for sale page 👍
  19. +1 on the owners club … as stated, ideal for soaking up the recoil from pokey homeloads!!
