Just take a kitchen fork and run through it .. you'll soon see 'em running around. Yes and no .. they move on, usually a few yards away and you end up with another set of 'mounds'. I've killed patches of lawn (+ the ants) with a kettle, and also used ant powder ... I think unless you catch them early you'll end up living with them.

I think we can safely say that the shot sizes were variable to say the least … multi-purpose!! Interesting if the OP would open one up to see the potential variations!

32” need not feel heavy …. but I understand the Laminate model you’re looking at is a bit on the ‘hefty’ side. Best try a couple of different ones out if you can. For fowling in the half light (especially duck), I’d prefer something more ‘intuitive’ than the deliberate swing of a 32”
