  1. Exactly, I wouldnt want to be on the receiving end of a .22 never mind anything bigger so why they make that distinction between 8mm and 375 im not sure! You could argue the 22 is more dangerous because they're often the first choice for new shooters and they're shot a lot whereas a 375 at 4 quid a bang theyre not going to being shot willy nilly.
  2. I want a 375, good reason being I want one probably won't hold much sway with my feo though. Ballistically speaking a big slow bullet will act less violently than a small fast bullet. My 243 can make more of a mess that the 270.
  3. Hes probably got 3 of the taps in different resistances in his shed and developed the original prototype before it went into full production.
  4. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00YCIDKVM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I bought one of these recently for a 6 week project where I needed to carry a few small things and needed my hands to carry other stuff. I had a shotgun and a spade in the rifle carrier bit as well as my bits and pieces in the main rucksack. It's not huge inside but it carried a fair amount of bits and bobs and was comfy to carry all night lamping. Its also got a round the middle clip for extra stability.
  5. I've never seen one but my best mate whilst out walking his lurchers on afternoon near Kenilworth saw one cross a lane and disappear into a spinney. His dogs wouldn't go into the wood and they aren't soft. He's a reputable source. The hunt i whipped into have 4 different people in 4 different locations who all saw something within minutes of each other, which they describe as a large black cat, run a stone wall and along a valley out the back of Llansantffraid a few years back all reputable, reliable people. And I was out lamping one night behind the army camp at nesscliff with the wife and high up in an oak tree there was a very significant and very unsettling growling noise going on. It wasn't a hollow tree and it definitely wasn't fox or badger sounding. I didn't have a thermal and the tree was heavy in leaf but whatever was up there growling made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end! Whether they're wild populations or whether they're escapees from dodgy zoos and illegal wildlife trade i don't know but I think there's probably something out there in some shape or form whether it's a true big cat or if its some sort of hybridised feral moggy on steroids I don't know.
  6. They are heavy but very good mods. And you're right they're practically bullet proof.
  7. Ever sheeted silage? Tires are foul. Full of stinky, **** water, rats and nettles. We use mats theyre so much better!
  8. If youve got 22cf on your ticket just buy any 22 centrefire that will suit your needs like a 22hornet, or like a 221 fireball or a 22-250 or a 220 swift. And then put back in for a rimfire afterwards.
  9. Maize whole or split, sugar beet nuts, peanuts, wheat, ruminant mix, salt licks, molasses, apples, carrots, fodder beet pretty much anything you can get your hands on. I had fallow get hooked on beet pulp nuts last year.
  10. Could you not cast it in stages and glue the sections together with something like jb weld leaving a big, proud seam and grind it back to flat?
  11. Handguns have been illegal for years now so it's surely not possible that the shooter used one is it? Or did the bad guys not get the memo? Youd like to think this would make the powers that be do something proactive and sensible but they'll just try and take guns off licensees instead.
  12. If I had the money I'd snap your hand off! If you feel like gifting it to me I can give it a very good home 😉
  13. Sako 70gr game head 243 £1.50 a bang from Wynnstay Federal powrshok 130gr 270 £1.50 a bang. No rhyme or reason to it.
  14. That's why he's got a 4inch angle grinder, the 9inch was making too much of a mess of the wrists 😄
  15. SAK cheap and cheerful. Got one on mine and it does the job.
  16. I spend 90% of my time looking after a 21 month old whirling dervish. I've got today and the weekend to get her to forget 'we feeding the badgers so daddy can shoot them hahahaha' before nursery on Monday morning! Stationary is borderline outlawed in this because she loves doing drawing drawing drawing! Finding a ruler is more of a miracle than jesus turning water into wine! My calipers were hidden away somewhere safe. I did dig them out and measure it yesterday. I'll try and find a minute and photograph it but the measurements were 12mm x 12mm.
  17. Can you get adapters? I'm going to dig out some hearing protection and go and zero it tonight if the rain holds off. I've had it a month and not shot it yet!
  18. It's looking like that might be the case. If I do I'll get it threaded to M14 so my other mod fits it and I don't have to spend any more money.
  19. It's a parker hale 270win, it says it at the top of the first picture. I'll have a root round in the garage.
  20. I dug out the calipers. Its 12mm long. 12mm wide thread. I have got some gauges on order.
  21. Well I thought it was too! But I bought a thread protector off evil bay and it don't fit! It was only 2 quid so I'm not devastated, but I'd like to know what it is 😄
  22. What thread is this please gents? Parker hale 270 win.
  23. Never had carpal tunnel but I've broken my scaphoid 3 or 4 times in my left wrist and never let it heal properly because I was an impetuous youth and all I wanted to do was be back riding racing. I thought I'd been getting arthritis but ignored it. I got to the point in March last year where I couldn't move it or really do anything, I thought I'd broken it again but it turns out I'd snapped a lot of the arthritis between the bones. Pain killers and a lot of overly tight strapping plaster OR when your in a pinch insulation tape made it bearable and then after a few months a big dose of steroids into the joint and its been as good if not better than it was before I hurt it the last time. I've been trucking along at probably a 2 on the pain scale sometimes even a 1 which is very good for me, since May last year.
  24. 😂😂😂 but a seriously strong right arm 😂😂
  25. Racehorse names that made it past the censorship. Mary hinge, knickers etc.
