Paul in North Lincs.
As well as shooting pigeons I also keep a team of high pedigree racing pigeons, which I am currently breeding to fly the young birds this coming season. I am having a problem with neighbouring cats, about 6 different ones to be precise. I have tried everything to deter them to no avail. SO........I acquired a feral cat trap off Ebay........................ Problem is, after I thought obout it I was unsure about the legal aspect of trapping cats......... does anyone know??:D

king ratcatcher
hi m8, i also have a problem with cats, theres alot of them around my estate, and they keep comming into my garden and leaving there **** all over the place, oh and they like to take my koi carp from my pond too
henry d
I have loads around me too however I don`t get them in the garden as I have ferrets.I think the smell(stink)of another predator keeps them out.I use the composted waste on the garden as well but don`t know if thats anything to do with it. I don`t think that you can do anything better than turn up on Mrs.Thingybob`s doorstep with her little Tiddles in a cage and explain what has happened. Best of luck
tenbears10
If you live anywhere near a safari park Paul I'm told that a lump of lion **** in your garden keeps all the local cats away a treat.

Cranfield
When I had problems with cats (mostly feral) at the Factory, I brought in an approved Pest Control Company. They set out baited cages for a few nights, but for two weeks prior to the trapping they had notices in all the local shops and leaflets in every house within a mile and a half of the Factory, warning Cat Owners what was going to happen. The notices also said that any cats with collars would be released, but any cats caught without collars would be humanely destroyed. This was all some years ago and legislation may have changed. Domestic cats have this "right to roam", unlike dogs. I think you would be in deep trouble if you set up a trap and cats went missing. coupe312
legally you are ****** killing a domestic cat. we got in loads of trouble cause my old dog killed one (long story). best way to stop them coming near is old cd stuck at right angles. the light refect back at the cat and the don't like it. sold any more acts coming in the garden... or could they smell fear form the last one
SNAKEBITE
I have a cat (long story) and have not got a collar on him. The reason is that it can hook up and cause harm. So just because a cat does not have a collar on doesn't mean it's a feral. I'd be very careful about using traps. Oh and the best way to stop cats s******g in your garden ............. is to get a cat. Works every time.

Cranfield
I have a cat (long story) and have not got a collar on him. The reason is that it can hook up and cause harm. So just because a cat does not have a collar on doesn't mean it's a feral. I'd be very careful about using traps. On my story I should have added, that cat owners were warned on the notice that if their cats had no collars, to keep them in the house on the specified nights that the trapping took place. I would also mention that they caught loads of hedgehogs and had to keep emptying the traps all night long, because the cats wouldn't go in with the hedgehogs there. Shooting at cats with anything, including a bb gun, is stupidly cruel and is one of the quickest ways to lose your certificate.

Catamong
At least cats are clean animals compared to dogs, they bury their *****, whereas our canine friends leave their steaming lumps all over the place for people to tread in.
