  1. 1. I have 5 days off this Christmas (+ weekends) and I have been invited shooting 3 of those days and I also have a day I have already paid for. I dont want to turn down any of the guest days, but I do want to spend time at home with my family! Help???

    • Buy her something really nice for Xmas then tell her?
    • Come clean now and see what she says?
    • Decline one or more of the guest days?
    • Write it on the calendar and wait for her to notice?
    • None of the above?

Come clean, discuss it with her and see what she says. She may be glad of having you out the house for a few days to let her get on!

Kids will be more interested in what they got for Xmas than you ;)

ANYONE who comes back with "man up, just tell her what you want to do" is more than likely the kind that has to go begging and pleading to their wife/mum to be allowed out

If I am reading it right, you have 5 weekdays off; on 3 of these you have been invited to shoot and you have a further 1 day you have booked.

I have a wife and young family too, it ain't easy or fair, you need to split it fairly IMO so politely decline a couple of guest days and make sure the family time is good quality time and not lying about the house.

Enjoy the days you do have!

Come clean and tell the wife :good: Honesty is the best policy cowboypistol.gif if you've been good to her and the kids all year they'll under stand, any way the two big days are Christmas on Saturday so no shootin there and Boxin day Sunday so no shootin then either, plenty of time for the family then and at nights after the shoots.

you see what we have here is a failure in the basic training. Just like a decent dog you have to train women properly in the first place. Ideally if she can pick up with said dog and come too then that is ideal but if its preferred she stays at home then you have to get them accustomed to this from day 1.

As it seems like you've failed on the above counts then just like a dog resort to bribery :good:

Completely agree. I've (very) recently had a similar dilemma of attempting to strike the right balance between shooting and spending time with the family. Suffice to say that Sundays are now sacred.........to shooting :good:

Compromise, and you may get more than you expected, and praise up the meal when you get home.

Those that say man it up, are the ones that are in charge at home WITH THE WIFES PERMISSION, and no I am not shouting

We've all got to make sacrafices in this sort of situation, i have to look after the children whilst my beloved goes to the sales. She'll reciprocate whilst i go shooting.

However what she doesnt know is that i would much prefer to play with the kids than go to the sales so, i'm not complaining! :D

Cheers
