triscrx
Had these for years now and they are still Waterproof and in great condition. I reckon I must have walked a good 1000 Miles in them. Use them for all my shooting and regular Hiking. My Scarpa Boots after a good clean and a fresh extra generous coating of NikWax I tend to apply the wax by hand using my fingers to massage the Wax in whilst borrowing the Wifes Hairdryer to heat the wax so it soaks right in. Leather is in great condition from doing this regulary. Only thing I have had to do is change the laces as they wear out. What do you lot use when shooting / in the outdoors? throbbingfinger
Well right now I'm wearing Marks and Spencers fresh feet socks. When I'm shooting I wear my Le Chemeau Mouflon Plus. I also use the wifes hair dryer to properly seal the wax in to them. I've had my boots 3-4 years, the best money I ever spent.
chrispti
Got a pair of 10 year old Lowas which have probably done more miles than my car, they now leak as the sole has perished. Replaced those with a pair of Meindl Burma Pro MFS, lets see how long they last
Blunderbuss
I wear walking boots (Scarpa) or Wellies (Aigle Parcour ISOs) depending on the ground and weather. In colder weather, if I'm sitting in a hide or if the ground is very wet - wellies. If its not too cold or if I'm beating on rough ground I wear boots & sometimes gaiters. gixer1
I have Le chameux Mouflon leather boots (the mid hieght ones) they are fantastic - snug and waterproof and when worn with macgaiters they are very good and will even cope with a fast calf deep dip in water and still keep you dry...for general walking and wearing day to day i find north face material hiking boots are hard to beat, i just replaced my leather hunter wellies after 7-8 years and they were good but the stiched seams gave up eventually....i have just replaced them with grubs stalkers but it's too early to tell how good they are, they are comfortable and warm and the vibram sole seems good. regards, Gixer. libs
Chammy neos, the only choice really. I can honestly say my feet have never been cold in them, even whilst standing around pretending to work in 6" of snow.
