the last engineer
For the fishermen out there This Sturgeon was caught on the Fraser River just above the Mission Bridge, two weeks ago. That is in BC, just out of Vancouver, for those of you who are not familiar with the area... It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs. and measured out at 11'1". It was 56" around the girth and took over 6 and a half hours and 4 dozen beer for the 4 guys taking turns reeling. Martin

Sturgeon are a fabulous fish on the rod and fight forever, cant wait until I take the Littles after them in a year or two. NTTF

Pedro
TLE that's incredible I take it the guy with the massive cheesy grin on the left is responsible? Not having a clue about fishing, do you have to use wire line to bring that sort of thing in, or is it a war of attrition? P.

Lord Geordie
I hope it was released It's too nice a fish and will have taken some amount of time to grow to that size. I got into the habit of releasing ALL the fish i catch now as i see too much waste when supermarkets throw 1000s of tons of fish away every week that people simply don't buy Now i fish and return and buy my fish from the supermarkets to try and stem the waste (very little point i know) but i am trying to do my bit . Don't get me wrong i am not the type who patrols the piers and harbours beating people up and returning the fish Just PERSONALLY i see too much waste to warrant me taking the fish home. Besides my Philosophy is IF i return there is a chance i will catch again next time LG
