Mungler
I voted yes because i thought the poll was for rolling her in sugar and then catapulting wasps nests at her. Seriously though, she's a dinosaur and it's time she went.
Spiderdude
It's not the first time she has spouted comments that could be construed as racist. Ever since she entered parliament she has had an agenda that is questionable at best. She should resign or be sacked, but I doubt that will happen. 88b
I would have more sympathy with her, if I thought she had learned her lesson. Sadly, she moves from one gaffe to another, barely pausing to reflect on her stupidity and hypocrisy. Too true just like her kids going to a private scholl while she slates Tory's for doing the same. Still I doubt she was involved in the expenses scandal
Vince Green
She's a political lightweight who in truth has made a career out of being Labours token black woman and not much else. If she had been a one legged lesbian as well she probably would have got Milliband's job. This is what you get when you indulge in token politics. Does anyone actually believe she would have made it to where she is now if it wasn't for her gender and her skin colour? Its certainly not on ability. wyatt
I'm not offended by her comments but the injustice of the situation. If a white MP had made those comments then they'd be in court charged by the CPS and out of their role within hours. She constantly proves she iis unfit to hold the position she does and should report to her local police station to be considered for prosecution. unapalomablanca
I dont care if someone makes racist comments about my colour. My race was subjugated by the romans for 500 years, yet i dont dwell on it and i am rather fond of italians. The worst thing the 'left' have ever invented is their hideous 'positive discrimination'. Imagine it being implemented in the world of medicine!!!
Fisherman Mike
I dont like her....... but sacked for telling the truth what ever next... In a couple of hundred years time we will all be a light shade of Kahki... so Black, white, brown, yellow, orange or red it wont matter two hoots. Agreed. If this had been a white Tory MP saying similar things he would have gone a long time ago. I doubt that very much...
Thunderbird
The worst thing the 'left' have ever invented is their hideous 'positive discrimination'. Imagine it being implemented in the world of medicine!!! If the labour ward my wife was in was anything to go by I don't need to imagine! Seriously, one thing that bugs me about her and her ilk is the apparent 'force field' that seems to be around politicians and public officials from minority groups. Though thankfully perhaps that's fading now. Whatever happens to Abbott I doubt she will ever have a 'real' job again, if indeed she ever did. Getting sacked now would probably be a career move - think of all the NGOs and groups she could get a non-exec seat on. Probably 20-30 at £20-30 grand a pop each. oscarsdad
Didn't she defend the actions of the savage scum that beheaded the policeman in the riots in the 80s? Purely on the basis that he had the same colour skin as her? By that logic we (whites) should be defending hitler and any other white bad guys... In a couple of hundred years time we will all be a light shade of Kahki... so Black, white, brown, yellow, orange or red it wont matter two hoots I think you're right to an extent Mike, but it doesnt change the fact that a moron of any colour is still a moron. But the issue of alienation is really made worse when the hand-wringing middle class lefties implement ill-conceived policies which achieve the exact opposite of what the intention or spirit might be. Badgerpig
I couldnt care less what she thinks of white people but by her own PC standards her comments were bigoted like all loud mouths she loves to give it but cant take it when anyone else starts on her I'd sack her just for being annoying Edited January 6, 2012 by Badgerpig
Chally2
What would the response be if this was stated. Black people love playing divided and ruled. We should not play their game
oscarsdad
What would the response be if this was stated. Black people love playing divided and ruled. We should not play their game Depends who made the statement, if it was a white person then there would be considerably more uproar than there has been from abbot's comments, whereas if it was a black person who said it no one would take any notice. libs
I think what she said is true. Even if it is/was/partially true the point remains, if a white MP had said "Black people like to (INSERT ANY GENERIC TRAIT/BEHAVIOUR)" he would be branded a vile racist pig, sacked never to work in politics again. I don't like the pussy-footing PC behaviour of people in the public eye but we can't have double standards, especially not in this fair world. JR1960
The woman has made a career out of being a racist bigot, if she was white she would have been sacked years ago.......'hoist upon her own petard' methinks.............and not before time. Gordon R
Diane Abbott:- Described Nick Clegg and David Cameron as "two posh white boys". Told a black studies conference in Philadelphia that ‘the British invented racism’. Attacked her local hospital for employing ‘blonde, blue-eyed’ Finnish nurses. She was probably "quoted out of context" - it seems to cover any gaffe she makes. In these instances, she has chosen to bring race / colour in to the debate. No-one twisted her arm or made her say it. In my book, she is either a racist or truly stupid. I think she qualifies on either count. Breastman
I went for no, not because I think she shouldn't be reprimanded for making comments which without any doubt would have been roundly condemned and ended the career of any person swapping "white" for "black" but because I think we should be looking to re-establish some degree of common sense and not playing a childish game of he said - she said to score points in an essentially futile argument. That would be in an ideal world, sadly the genie is out of the bottle and noone appears to want to stuff him back in yet Had this been her first 'offence' i would've said left her off with a severe dressing down, and make her grovel for fogiveness on tv. Sadly she's been coming out with such statements since the mid 80's so i think its time for Token to leave. BobSki
I vote YES, Sack her. Not just because the comment was "racist", although in these days that is reason enough, but because it shows an appauling lack of judgement, extremely high level of childishness (on her part), an unbelievable amount of ignorance and an unaccaptable level of bias to one section of community. ALL of these things are why this stupid, arrogant, racist woman is not fit to be an MP.
