malkiserow
Big opinel fan here.....nice carbon steel but best kept dry if you can. I always use a Mora Clipper, or my gutting favourite...... A Mora Punch knife which are both SS for ease of cleaning and not rusting
Scully
For just light use on a day to day basis;it has to be an Opinel;cheap(don't know what price the stainless ones are though)and sharpens well.
gixer1
Kershaw "needs work" excellent build quality and a lifetime gaurantee on the workings and blade. Excellent to use as can be opened and closed one handed as they are assisted openers (basically a legal "flick" type knife. The only problem I have with them is they have a sharp point so cannot be used for gralloching but they are intended as a pocket knife so usually I use a buck omni hunter for deer... http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=360440002478&cmd=VIDESC Regards, Gixer Edited April 22, 2012 by gixer1

rimfire4969
What are memebers using as there most popular legal pocket knife up to £20 in value , many thanks By legal I guess you mean legal to carry in public, if so that means a folding knife with a blade no more than 3" and non locking. Counts out a lot of above. Edited April 22, 2012 by rimfire4969

njc110381
For folders I'd have to vote Opinel. Note that the models with the locking ring class as lock knives rather than folders so are not strictly good as far as the law is concerned. My every day carry knife is a swiss card that lives in my wallet and goes everywhere with me. Again not classed as folding so strictly speaking I need good reason to carry it even though the blade is just over an inch long but you'd have to find a seriously grumpy copper to pull you up on that! I've gralloched a Roe with this knife before, although it won't open the ribs up like a decent lock or sheath knife.
Thedeerman
I mostly carry folding stanley knife, brilliant for doing rabbits. Just throw the blade in the bin when it gets a bit dull.

Sharpshooter.123
I'm using opinel and it keeps a really good edge on it, I so have other knives but still choose the cheap and cheerful opinel. Wookie
Good thread this, especially given that I have just lost my old Buck lock knife. Whilst I have been considering an Opinel to replace, it's going to be living in my webbing and used for all manner of stuff other than gutting rabbits. I'd briefly considered a rescue tool, but that would be less capable than a locking knife. Any recommendations?
