deputy dog
Enjoyed it for a first time goer, lots to take in and see. Had a little chat to 2 of Team Wild who were polite and helpfull. Food stall must have made an absolute killing up there as they were charging premium prices for grub. Missed out on a few deals but did manage to get a Ridge line jacket worth 120 pound for 80, so was happy with that. Nearly came home with a Daystate Huntsman, but i just managed to talk myself out of it, till a later date. Defo going again next year. BerettaSV10
They weren't Gypsies they were Vermin, at least two shotguns stolen one rifle by slashing open Marquees on Friday night when there was NO security present. My mates daughter had her handbag strap cut off her arm whilst she slept, bag stolen, cash and mobile taken, bag and credit cards thrown away and recovered at the back of the stands. Talk to the Police. " There is nothing we can do to apprehend them. " "But we can take your SGC off you if you get lippy or violent towards them, and we'll find something wrong with your car and do you for that whilst we are on." Midland Game Fair R.i.P. Nothing changed then, they still have the same approach as when I went to make a complaint years ago, about a boy racer in blue almost causing a accident by not looking when he pulled out of a junction. First thing they said was we will check your vehicle over and find some thing to do you on, if one makes a complaint. Could not make the game fair, may be time to give it a miss next year as well and continue to support our local places.
Ferret Master
Went on the Sunday, absolutely crawling with ****** and their litters from lunchtime onwards. Whilst the women arguing and throwing grass at each other combined with 6 year old boys throwing a tantrum because their Dad would only buy them half a pint could be looked upon as entertaining, their presence will definitely be to the detriment of the show. The abovementioned thefts combined with the added cost of security for store holders and money lost through theft will only make the show poorer in years to come as more as more quality stores don't bother attending. I dare say the only people that did well out of them were the stick makers as it seemed de rigueur for every ***** above knee height to be brandishing one. There was quite a notable police presence on the Sunday. FM Edited September 17, 2012 by Ferret Master

I was sickened to see some sad looking springer being dragged around by a young ***** who was asking everyone if they wanted to buy him. My immediate thoughts were for the poor soul thats had their dog nicked. 10 yards behind him were a rough looking bunch of Didds obviously there as back up

Don't forget to cancel the cards...often a scam is to let the victim find the cards..but by now the thief has all the details off them plus you address so can go on an Internet spree cause you haven't canceled them. Walker56
It was my first time at the midland show went with the wife and kids, cost a fortune to eat but that's to be expected.we all really enjoyed the show and I managed to pick up my first s/g a multi choke lanber ,the kids enjoyed shooting air rifles and now it looks like I'm going to be looking for air rifles for them. I was also quite surprised by the large volumes of gypsys they stood out like white trash at a royal wedding, I was waiting for the tv cameras that were filming my big fat gypsy game fair. oscarsdad
It is such a shame that almost everything we love or enjoy is continuously erroded by ***** underclass scum just looking to cause trouble or steal. It is a problem that is only going to get worse until someone works out a solution as to how we can get rid of them (an no I don't mean along the lines of our European friends in the 40s)

MITCHF
Did Fri to Mon, campsite was a good atmosphere, only let down by "8" showers for 1000's of paying punters £70 for a pitch is not to be sniffed at, they need to look at that next year. Other than that a great show, good weather, good mates. Yep, we saw all the *****'s, but we'd just move away and "watch your bags" , don't let them toerags spoil "our " event. There where lot's of bargains where we shopped, got discount on everything we bought, just got to ask and barter, and walk away if they won't. Same again next year :yahoo:
mart028
You must have got there later than me mine are 4's and 5's using them for pigeons happy days I bought 2000 4s, 5s and a slab of 6s (only one left), again getting them to the car wasn`t fun, they gave me a barrow with a flat tyre to use. BUT when i got at the top there was an AA stand and i got him to blow the tyres up for me :-) Bargain.

craigemo
Plenty of travellers there, that's a fact. I was only there for a few hours so didn't see any bother luckily. We were told by phone to enter the coursing event before half 9. We got there for 9 to be told we were too late! 200 miles wasted.
HW682
I went Sunday and thought it was OK. My biggest gripe, and it doesn't compare to car break ins or stolen hand bags etc, was many of the stalls packing up early. To avoid carrying stuff around for hours (or risking leaving it in the car!) I made a note of where most of the stuff was that I was wanted to buy and was then going to get it all in one run on the way out. As I was getting ready to go though, half the stalls seemed to decide to pack up at about 5.30. I don't know if I had wrong information, or whether I missed an anouncement, but the website said opening time was till 7pm. Don't complain about the high cost of stall pitches if you can't even be bothered to stay there for the allocated time. Guess I will end up buying the gear off the internet for less money anyway. To be honest - we were helping on a stall & the last hour was dead - we helped pack up about 6:30 & by that time the "do as you likeys" were hitting the bin motor with sticks

I did pick up a few bits from there as usual. 6.30 I would consider reasonable if it is dead but 5.30 was too early in my opinion when it was advertised as open till 7. Edit: thinking about it, the early closers were mainly on the opposite side to you. One must have started and the others all copied. As I said I went for one last circuit, turned a corner and suddenly half the stalls were closed or closing. rec-baller
managed to go on the sunday, set off for 6.30am and on site by 7.50am, plenty of people there already ,,managed to get a pair of waterproof pants at half price and stock up on AA Diablo pellets,, but not much else, not many bargains this year, as per usual food was a rip off-- so took the camp stove to make my own bacon buttys, must admit the place was crawling with travellers, the stood out a mile-- especially the girl in the pink velour track suit that was 6 sizes too small it had my mrs on edge all day, she was panicking about the car ( Golf gti) she was convinced it was going to get broken into to, but we had parked two rows back from the front by the ticket office , so there was plenty of security/police about also saw plenty of police about inside,, don,t know if i,ll go back next year, have to wait and see shaun Edited September 17, 2012 by rec-baller

Archie-fox
i saw 2 guys in a stall put on 2 expensive jackets and just walk out into the croud...made me feel sick as i couldnt do anything about it, had my dog with me and my mrs, i told the stall owner and went to the police stand but no-one there... if i had of grabbed one of them i doubt i would have made it out alive..as they both looked like good scrappers..and i think they had a couple of lookouts distracting staff so i bet i would have had one over the head if had put my hands on one...
