If you manage to get your pattern right they will be looking to land. I have the peek of my cap just over the hide so by not moving I can check before the MOVE, MOUNT & SHOOT. Cosd
Another couple of good bags there PC, I can't help but notice that nearly all of your birds are adults with a full set of neck markings, we shot 135 yesterday over a bean stubble and I would reckon that about 70% of those were juvenile birds without the neck markings, as is always the case at this time of year. Do you deliberately target the adults and leave the youngsters alone, or perhaps the birds don't breed too much in your area..?? Cat. Don't know where you shot those Cat, but my last couple of outings in the Tring and Hemel areas have been the same as you describe, where the majority of the birds shot are youngsters too. Cos It should be the same everywhere at the moment, vast numbers of juvenile birds about, real suckers for the magnet, that's why big bags are relatively easy for anybody who knows what they're about, I just can't work out why 90% of those in PC's pics are all adult birds, seems very strange to me..?? I don't doubt that PC is probably the most accomplished pigeon shooter on this forum, what would he have to gain by lifting loads of birds out of his freezer and laying them out on various fields day after day, it just doesn't make any sense, it's not as if he's a pro Pigeon Guide selling let days, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, keep shooting Matey..!! Cat. Hi Cat, as you say to keep moving birds around would be stupid. From previous post we do tend to target mature birds and when we take the picture we put the larger birds to the front . I have circa 800 in the freezers at present and records of our weekly number going back circa nine years. I am open to local PW members ie Bunny Basher, Oscasdad, Topgunners to come and audit freezers, records, pictures. I have enough problems picking up off the field, laying out for picture, bagging up, laying out in garage, placing in freezer and then bagging up to take to the dealer. A fishing mate of mine, Mick Brown once toldl me " If you lie about numbers or weights you are only fooling yourself" I will continue to publish our results and you can make your own mind up whether they are genuine or not. oscarsdad
I have no doubt at all that all of these bags are 100% genuine - i just wish I could find some damn pigeon shooting permission so I could get in on the action! (not that I would be getting bags half as big as these). There are thousands of birds around, if someone on here feels the need then I would happily verify several freezers full as an independent, but I really don't think it is necessary. bunny_blaster
I too have no reason to doubt PC's bags. Ive spoke to him on many occasions while out looking for pigeons and he certainly knows his stuff. I can often hear the shots when hes out on certain farms from the yard i operate from so he must be shooting at something!! Come on Mate, no-one would ever really suggest they aren't genuine. You're just so far ahead of the rest of us that calling it unbelievable is just another compliment and a sign of how much most iof us envy your luck. I reckon one of the reasons you get so many is that you've got a lot of land and have been doing it long enough to know where all those reliable hot spots are. That takes time. JDog
Pigeon Controller there is absolutely no need to defend yourself on this forum against accusations that your fantastic bags are fabricated, they quite clearly are not, nor should you even consider opening your freezers to those who doubt you. Your reports, far from being 'repetitive', are interesting and to me anyway a great inspiration to do better at the sport which I love. We only shoot one farm two months of the year and this year it has given us 1600 plus birds . You get good bags because the area you are in must be heaving with pigeons.I am sure there are many on here who could do the same if in your area.If you did not have the pigeons in your area you could not get big bags of pigeons so consistently. jimboozle
Cracking writeup, and a couple of good bags. Well done mate! pigeon controller
First I'd like thank you all for your support. With reference to door knocking we find that just asking for a days shooting gets your feet in the door. At the end of day pop in and thank them. Hiya Bob. Here we go again. THE DREADED PIGEON WATCH DOUBTERS.. Don't defend yourself mate - you don't need to. We know how good you are at your fieldcraft and both you and DB are topshots. The same thing happened with PROTOM recently and he hardly ever posts anymore. What a bunch of mindless morons some members are on here. It makes me sick that other members take great pleasure in seeing the big bags and gleaning information and tips on pest controlling and some have to ruin it with their doubting thomas nature. I suggest you market those brown eye bands that you have on your Avatar and send them to certain members to HIDE THEIR GREEN EYES. As for having your freezers checked by me, I think that is definitely a NO-NO unless you have room for another 3,000 that we have shot. lol We have personally shot with the Brummy Duo folks and I can guarantee that all their bags are genuine. The last time we shot with them; between the 4 of us we had over 600 pigeons that day. Keep up the good work mate and just can't wait for the FOREST of ARDEN invite. Cranfield
Anyone who handles hundreds of pigeons knows what a nuisance and time consuming exercise it is. To imagine that anyone would unload a hundred odd birds from a freezer, take them into a field and photograph them ( using a different field every time), just to pretend they were shooting loads of birds is laughable. PC has given up most of his secrets, he lives in the Forest of Arden area, he shoots most days, is a good shot and knows what he is doing. Duplicate that list and you will be able to take the same photographs as he does...........and no I haven't forgotten the magic brown eye bands.
