Mikaveli
If he's been tagged for 3 months - is that the same as a 3 month sentence, prohibiting him for 5 years? I know if you're sentenced to 3 months or more, 5 year ban - more than three years and you're banned for life. It doesn't matter if you spend your sentence in or out of prison, if you get released early etc. etc. all that needs to happen is to get handed the original sentence. I'm assuming a tag counts like an open prison or something - correct me if I'm wrong?
Gordon R
It was a 30mph zone i was doing 42 mph the statement said i was racing i wasnt but my word against police is nothing there always going to listen to them! That is plainly untrue. Your word is as good as a Policeman. You either made a guilty plea - in which case, you accepted what had been said, or made a not guilty plea and were found guilty after a Mags Trial. Did you run a trial or accept it? You say you happily accept the punishment, but you don't. You think you are being hard done by. When you got a shotgun certificate, you also inherited the responsibility that went with it. Mikaveli
Tag isnt like going in prison im not banned for 5 years there simply taking it away from me.. Think you have read that wrong.. The Home Detention Curfew (HDC) / electronic tagging scheme applies to prisoners who are serving sentences of between three months and under four years. It allows prisoners to live outside of prison providing they do not breach the rules of their curfew and is designed to help prisoners prepare for life after their release. Redgum
Mmmmmmmmmmm, its a hard knock life old mate, you do the crime you do the time but I will say this to you. What ever anyone says or judges you on, this forum isnt probably the place to get hardlined sympathetic advice. Your only option is to seek advice, talk to basc or any other shooting organisation that you maybe a member of and get legal advice. If your being totally honest about your crime ( though I reserve judgement on that seeing you have been tagged) it may feel harsh as I know some that have committed far worse crimes and retained their license. Imperfection
It was a 30mph zone i was doing 42 mph the statement said i was racing i wasnt but my word against police is nothing there always going to listen to them! I happily accept the punishment but i dont want to lose my shotgun just before christmas i bought new netting and everything but i dont no what to do!? This is what i suspected you were charged with. The fact you were overtaking your friend on the wrong side of the bollards and being only 19 years old would be enough to convince a magistrate. The only thing you can really do is appeal to the licensing bods and plead your case.
parapilot
You should have robbed the car, or burgled a house, then you prob get let of with a course or a caution. Motorists get belted cos they can afford the fines etc etc. always amazes me watching these police programs the real crims get away with it. It what's said is true, I think it's harsh. Intact previous record, just a stupid mistake you shouldn't have been tagged!! Your big mistake was no lawyer you were a sitting duck. His word against yours you should have fought it. Without reasonable doubt one word against another on an opinion with no further evidence. Good legal team would have got u through.
shaun4860
If you are 19, I assume you havnt had your driving licence for 2 years? If this is the case you will probably have to resit your test You still havnt said what you were banned for? ie driving offence code
ozzy518
It's a strange one to be given a tagging order for a straightforward motoring offence. I've known it done for drink drive, aggravated twc disqual driving etc but never just for traffic offences.

I happily accept the punishment but i dont want to lose my shotgun just before christmas i bought new netting and everything but i dont no what to do!? You were doing 42 mph? You say that "police see it happen". Was your speed measured by a following police vehicle, by an officer with a radar device (speed gun), or by a camera? Did the charges against you state that you were travelling at 42 mph, or is that how fast you reckon you were travelling? It looks as though you were being very irresponsible with a lethal weapon (your car), and the police have decided that you're not going to get a chance to equally irresponsible with another lethal weapon (your gun). Vipa
Im goin to start off by saying im sorry to the people I messed around on here! Last year my life was perfect had everything i wanted or could of ever dreamed off! I went out with a mate had a moment of stupidity i over took him and didnt have enough time to pull back in front so had to go around a traffic light so on the wrong side of the road it was at around 1 so i knew and could see there was no other cars but police see it happen went to court 15 month ban, put on tag for 3 months, £85 fine and its taken them up to today to ring me and say my licence is going to be revoked this is my first ever crime! ive never done a single thing wrong, now ive lost everything my job, my car, my shotgun, so now my lifes ruined i just want all you younger people to think twice and not be as stupid as i was!! Alot of people will now judge me because of this and im not that kind of person, but after all you commenting saying its my fault which i no it is! Trust me i do! i just want to no if you think that its fair i lose my shotgun too ive lost everything else i feel they made an example outta me?! Sorry if you read this and laugh or say that was pointless i just have to get it off my chest and you fellas have always been here to help!! Mate... I sympathise, sort of... but look on the brightside... When my son's best mate decided to overtake him in a very similar situation, he lost control of the vehicle and wrapped it round a tree... he then decided to die whilst my distraught son was trying to get to him in the wreck... when the police arrived, my son was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and went through months of hell expecting to be charged and to go to prison (this even though there were 3 passengers in his car who stated he was driving perfectly sensibly and was not even speeding.... with no other witnesses, they just assumed they were racing! it was his mate who had a temporary moment of stupidity.... that cost him his life!) To put icing on the cake, my son then had to stand up and be cross examined at the inquest and relive the whole thing... He has changed since then... he is not the same person he was... something has been ripped out of him (and probably the other girls who were with him) that he/they will NEVER get back.. His best mate lost his life, my son and 3 others had their lives changed for ever, his mum and dad split up as they couldn't cope and now have to look at photos on his birthdays rather than their son.... All this... for a moment of stupidity... Ya know what.... I've changed my mind, I don't have any sympathy for you at all and quite frankly you deserve all that has been dumped on you... what you did was a deliberate act and maybe more tragedies could be avoided if idiots like you just thought about things before they acted... being sorry after the event is ABSOLUTELY not enough... just think it lucky that someone didn't die and that you didn't ruin a large number of peoples lives in the process.. There... I've got that off MY chest!

ozzy518
As others have said, instead of feeling sorry for yourself think how lucky you have been. Lucky that you have not killed or seriously injured a completely innocent person. You will eventually get your driving licence back , maybe even your sgc .
