Carrot decoys would be best in the snow but you need to switch to Lettuce in early spring.Tesco do carrots with the leaves still on which are effective on a magnet but fix them carefully-my mate failed to do so and whilst bent over picking up a box of shells a large organic Carrot flew from the magnet and you can guess the rest.Get well soon Pete.

Yes carrots are ok, but if you can get them hooked on lettuce you will get better results. Lettuce contain lactucin which is a nutural sedative so if they eat enough they will become drowsy and shouldnt spook if your lamping them. :good:

Good luck, i hope i have been of some help. :good:

OK Lads, you've had your fun so now stop winding the guy up! You should all know full well that the easiest and most effective way to get plenty of rabbit within shooting range is to sit well camoed up and squeek them in making a noise like a bunch of cabbage (Or better still a Brissels Sprout) seedlings swayin in the wind. It never fails as rabbits just can't resist them - Much in the same way that a school boy can't resist the sound of a Playboy magazine page being turned!

I really am embarrassed that Pigeon Watch members are so quick to take the Micky out of the OP for his serious question.

So to answer the OP's question, no I have yet to find a bait or decoy that works on rabbits.

However, for many years I have been making a beautifully carved wooden carrot shaped rabbit call. I have sold many to aspiring, novice rabbit hunters over the years. They are only £79.95 + £9.95 postage. PM me if interested.
