Kes
The 75 billion was the summation over then till now of the rebate she personally negotiated from our EU contributions when she had the chance. As for the costs to the country thats difficlut to assess since there would have been no country to worry about, had she not 'restored democracy' to Britain. I think she'd have been pleased with the accounts and the bottom line she left.

figgy
So much for the osterity measures. paul65
People are banging on about this 3.6 million and how it could have been better spent. But it probably wouldn't have been better spent, it would been swallowed up in the wasted BILLIONS spent each year on flawed IT projects, transport schemes that never get completed and poorly negotiated government contracts. I read that this amounted to about £30 Billion over a couple of years. I'd say this 3.6 Million was good value for money in comparison.

Twistedsanity
It's what we have, so that's how it works. I thought that a democracy meant one person one vote ?, is it possible to have a true democracy whilst the monarch can over-rule government ? Surely that doesn't fit the definition ? Penelope
She doesn't though. A pity that she don't, particulary with the last lot. Twistedsanity
She doesn't though. A pity that she don't, particulary with the last lot. Would it not seem reasonable to assume the fact that she "can" if and whenever she chooses makes a mockery of believing we have a democracy though? It means my vote is only usefull so long as she deems it so ( which means its not really a democracy is it?)

shaun4860
could you decipher that rubbish please as i havent a clue what it means? Reet What he is getting at is we could have buried Mrs T at Grange farm shooting ground and the £3.8million cost of the funeral could have been given to Orchid Cancer. This is the venue for this years PW charity shoot. Orchid Cancer is the chosen charity I hope that clears it up a bit for you
Chris Bb
The vacination of Welsh children to protect them from the current measles epidemic is going to cost £20M. This just goes to show exactly how little you get for a million these days. A totally unwanted, unnecessary, roundabout built in our village cost £1M! Thus £3.6M pales into insignificance.
