ack-ack
A post in another thread mentioned skodas being ten a penny a few years back. Am i the only person that thinks the skoda estelle had a great look? What other odd motors would you never admit to liking? (Obviously for the thread to work you will have to admit to liking them but it goes no further)

NIGHT SEARCHER
I had two years ago i got a 130 Estelle for the wife and kids she loved it. And i had the 136 coupe i put a stage two head on it with twin Weber DCOE 40s. I did a few hill climbs with it and it did very well. Good fun on the road too. 4 pot Calipers has standard. Jesus i give £2000 for the 130 and it was only 7 months old. Happy Days.
Lord Geordie
My Aunt owned a Skoda Estelle and it kept breaking down. My Dad and I would keep sorting it for her and I loved it. I made many points of wanting it. One christmas my Aunt passed me a small box. I shook it and I heard a metalic rattle. I.was buzzing thinking it was the keys to the Estelle. Instead it was a small cast metal estelle by Matchbox. I was gutted. She eventually sold tue Estelle for £80  I have had a few oldies. Chevette auto, Datsun 100, mk1 mazda 323, mk1 astra,.mk1 fiesta, mk2 escort. Edited August 11, 2013 by Lord Geordie
Kes
Bit like the VW caravanette, but a lot less lusted after, we had a Renault Estafette. Ugly, french, but what a superb camper when I was young and fancy free. I think the french police used them for 'paddy wagons' or is that term politically incorrect these days ? Chevettes looked the nuts given the treatment, a lad at school had one in faded pale yellow. Dechromed it, set of black rims and a rude exhaust and voila, still a bit plip plop but looked great. I think you'll find that It's fine to call them 'French' although I think they might be Gendarme rather than Police
jgguinness
I love my classic cars. Father has a few. When I was at Uni (18 years ago) these were my transport. Had a load of Mk1 Golf GTI's when you could pick them up for under a grand. Also had a 1972 Scimitar GTE. With it being a 3ltr V6 it drank like Gazza, but sounded and looked the boobies with straight through pipes and Wolfrace wheels fitted. Can remember I pulled a lass from my year, she loved the motor, first date took her out and it was lashing down, the sunroof leaked onto the passenger side seat, which she found out on the way home!! Never mind, didn't stop her practicing sucking a golf ball through a hose pipe!!
Sprackles
My first cars and motor bikes were oldies..(older than me I might add...) Always liked the older stuff...except for women, First car was a 1956 Split Screen Moggie Minor.....803cc of unadulterated power....leather interior....trafficators and pull button start although on many a day the old starting handle came into play. I loved that car, even managed to pull in it and indulge in weekend gymnastic sessions. Second up was a 1960 Austin A40 Farina......slightly more power and refinement but for a little car, built like a tank. Got side swiped by a Renault 4 in it......., I got a bent door and sill, the Renault lost a wheel and stoved its front end in. I would have either of them again today for a little runabout given the chance.
Dunkield
Not sure what this one was called, but it went well for them on and off the track
Scully
Vauxhall Firenza for some reason and Austin Maxi.Triumph Herald was my first car;neat little thing, and my Dad had a Dolomite Sprint.VW Beetle. A lad I know who lives a couple of 100 yards away from me builds and restores VW campers. One of his featured in a national classic magazine some years ago.He has a rally tuned Hillman Avenger as his runaround (the yellow one with the black stripes,if anyone remembers them) and does all the work on my Landy. Used to get a lift to work in a Saab 96 which I liked a lot;had never driven column change before then. Balian
I quite like the Fiat Coupe, though not everyones taste. Also the Mark 1 Mr2, used to own one of those back in the day. Own a Porsche 928 now, again not to everyones taste.

Dunkield
Could be the 130 Rapid Coupe! I like the Hillman Imp Californian/Sunbeam Stiletto or a Lotus Sunbeam! I would like to know the actual figures of how many Lotus Sunbeams, HSR Chevettes and the like that actually survived unmollested and in tact. I bet it isn't many. henry d
Datsun Cherry or Yugo`s, slightest sign of dampness and they rusted out before your eyes, but still they looked good against a lot of the 70`s motors
