TIDES EDGE
Never mind the price can you find some one who wants them?
Ferretboy111
10p a pheasant 20p a partridge £1.20 a duck Proper poor prices this year!
filzee
10p a pheasant 20p a partridge £1.20 a duck Proper poor prices this year! I can't believe the prices are so low. We don't shoot many so we all take what we shoot.
ollie
10p a pheasant 20p a partridge £1.20 a duck Proper poor prices this year! That is awful, I can't believe estates would accept as low a rate for pheasants. Why don't they branch out and prepare their own game and sell directly to the buyer, therefore, cutting out the middle man.
955i
These prices seem very low!! As someone who doesn't deal with these things, can anyone say whether it is a response to amounts of birds available (i.e. more shoots, more birds, prices drop) or is it a general overview of market prices regardless of number of birds? I would gladly pay more than that but obviously a limit to number of birds I would want.
Ferretboy111
It drops up and down throughout the season due to demand and availability. Usually the prices are about. £1.20 a duck 40-60p a pheasant 20-30p a partridge The most I've had for pheasants was 3 years ago at £1 a cock and 50p a hen! decoy1979
or go to sainsburys where a single pheasant is £8 and a 5 rib lion of bambi is £50 Lion of Bambi sounds quite exotic for Sainsburys!
scotslad
It is ridiculas how little the game dealers pay for game but a lot off the big shoots actually prefer it that way as it means not worth poatching the birds. End of day there making there money (or not) on the sale of day. Wouldn't like to be the one who has to take bambi of the lion

darren m
we have a game dealer on our market , selling preped pheasant at a £5 80p pigeon breast what a mark up
matone
we have a game dealer on our market , selling preped pheasant at a £5 80p pigeon breast what a mark up The `mark up` definitely kills sales of prep`d game I think and until game can be sold in volume the price off shoot will remain very low. Not a good state of affairs !

scotslad
Does the price for pheasant vary with different strians/breeds? Ie are people getting less for the smaller Kanas or Michigan type/cross pheasants compared to the more oold fashioned birds, some of the smaller birds are almost half the size and wieght, all neck legs and tail
