fl206
I would go with 00530 as well. The bit after the decimal isn't usually read I don't think.

deny essex
The numbers are read by using the lower number the hand has passed dis-regarding the red dial. I make it 00530 as well

masmiffy
Reading a dial meter If the pointer falls between two numbers, always read the lower number – in Fig A you would write down the number 4. If the pointer is directly over a number always record it – in Fig B you would write down the number 5. If the pointer on a dial falls between 9 and 0, reduce the reading already taken for the dial on the left by one – for example, if your original recorded 5, reduce this to 4. Following these instructions, the correct meter reading for the dial in the diagram will be 44928.

activeviii
just gone right back with all the meter readings they, BG, have done and they have been counting the 1/10, even though it says not to. then it is noted they they haven read the meter for 2 years even though someone has been in the cupboard every few months. to late now as we cant work out whats going on so will run it at 00530 and 0/10 with the new supplier the reading is going in 00530 and will have to put up with the 800KwH use for the month. Lesson learnt, read my own meter and dont rely on one persons thoughts. You know every 3 months this post is coming back up with a photo. lmao. thanks gents for your help All the best Phil. old rooster
846 is what I make it rounded out from last reading, you can always phone in the reading to your electricity supplier if you don't want estimated bills.

scorpius
I believe the following is correct, the reading of the meter does will not tell you how much electricity has been used, to get this information two readings need to be taken, and the two readings will tell you the amount of elect used over that period. Starting with the right hand dial one complete revolution = 1 digit on the dial to the left, so 1x 360 deg rotation of the top right dial will record the 2nd from right to record 1 when the second from the right rotates 360deg it will move the dial to its left 1 digit, the dial in red measures 1/10ths so if you are using any elect it will be going like the clappers, I hope this makes sense. If you have changed to a new supplier the date and time of the reading will tell them how much you have used on the next reading. I have done my best to explain, but if I can be of further assistance, let me know. I am sure others can explain it better. old rooster
Might be worth checking that you haven't got an immersion heater running flat out in the water cylinder? They give the old meter a good run!
